After a break from this place for a few years, we fancied a look-in for 2008. We ate there yesterday, and to say we were disappointed is an understatement.
Firstly, the staff were more interested in the football than us.
Secondly, the food was dismal. Recommendation to all of you - don't try the squid, or teriyaki chicken/spring onion on squewers. The squid resembled silly string squirted onto a plate - what was supposed to be deep-fried, was limp, off-white bits of bland rubber. No seasoning, no nothing. We sent it back.
The chicken teriyaki was another joke - pinkish 1cm cubes of chicken and grilled spring onion squeezed onto a skewer, with some sweet, brown watery sauce drizzled on top of it all.
Mains - the rice was dry and way overcooked, my noodles were limp and overdone, without any taste. My duck with ginger and pineapple was actually sweet'n'sour duck. My wife's red thai curry was more yellow, and contained more chilli powder than anything else.
We were disgusted with the food. Tasteless, dull, and uninspiring. Waste of our money
Thanks but no thanks

I agree with last review. Yum yum yum. I had nasi goreng and the others had chilli chicken ramen and house fried noodles. They were all really good. We also had the Slurp juice and fresh apple juice. At lunch time you get a main course (plenty of choice) and a drink for £5.45 plus 10% service. An absolute bargain.

Yummy yummy yummy - this is my 2nd review (1st review - see Aug 1st 2005) and I would like to continue my high praise for this supurb restaurant. I travel from neighbouring Balham to eat here and it's worth the short journey.
As with my previous review, the House Ramen has remained outstanding - although on my last visit the chicken and duck breast had halved in size and has a regular I did not wish to complain to staff. The mixed starters is fab! Still haven't brought back the Katsu Curry they used to do, so come on Slurp - bring it back!
If you like your food spicy, ask for their chilli oil - absolutely gorgeous!
Mon - Fri lunch they have a deal for £5.45 where you choose from a large selection of main courses with a soft drink to go with it!
Try it - you'll love it! Still the best Oriental in SW London!

This is by far one of the best restuarants in Streatham. A great selection of far eastern dishes (with a superb Nasi Goreng, some delicious ramens and the best fruit juice ever (the one and only SLURP juice), very low prices, attentive and friendly staff. Definitely one to try and be prepared to keep returning! Just wish they did a tom yum soup...

Wow! I love Asian food and this place was just lovely. Absolutely gorgeous Thai Seafood Salad, and very generous on the seafood for a starter. Perfectly balanced chili sauce, I just didnt want to get to the bottom of the bowl.
Lovely ramen for mains, very generous so I couldn't manage to finish it! Can't wait to go back and try some of the yummy looking Thai curries and Bentos

Ok, so I was looking for a local restaurant to treat my man to dinner and came across the reviews on this page. I decided to give Slurp a try and I'm so glad we did.
We got a table straight away and the staff were very friendly. The menu is broken down into Japanese, Chinese & Thai and everything we had was out of this world. The Thai red duck curry was absolutely the best I've ever tasted and the mixed starter was delicious. We had 3 starters, our main courses and dessert along with several glasses of freshly blended juice and two bottle of saki to finish and were absolutely amazed when the bill arrived at under £50.
Very higly recommended, we will most certainly be going back.

Fantastic food. The best 3 roast vermicelli ever. Everything I have tried here is absolutely amazing. The food comes quickly so perfect for a meal before the cinema etc. Slurp juice freshly made with melon and apple is lovely too. Good value - just wish they delivered!

The portions are huge, the food is delicious and very reasonably priced, the waiting staff are helpful without being intrusive - what more could you ask for? I will definitely be going back!

Ignore all bad reviews about this place - if you are after simple, honest and reasonably priced food, in a down to earth atmosphere where you are left alone with your food and your company, this is the place for you.
We discovered this place when moving to the area and not a month goes by without a visit. The portions are huge and the food arrives at your table within minutes of ordering it.
A joy to visit, other restaurants should take a leaf out of their book.

This is an excellent restaurant, I discovered it soon after I moved to the area and have been back many many times since. The red prawn curry is the best dish they have although you also can't go past their soups, also very good.
If you expect to be fussed over this probably isn't the place for you, but if you are after a quiet intimate dinner where you won't be constantly interrupted by fawning annoying waiters, you will
like this place.
