Great place just East of Liverpool Street station. Old style Cafe with a lot of charm.

Quick service and a good menu. I went for a Honey and Mustard Sausage (sausage of the day) and a Pork, Ale and Hops one with Bubble and Squeak and a side of mushy peas (lurvley). Nice big sausages full of flavour.

Went for lunch here with a friend and was in and out within 30 mins and cost under a £10er each.

Went to the one in Portobello around Sat lunchtime. Food was fresh but the service wasnt able to cope with the many diners. The waiters mean well but they misplaced our initial order and then after 35min we complained. They then gave us the wrong stuff all of which made it a disappointing experience.

This restaurant does the best vegetarian gravy in London! They have delicious vegetarian sausages and the mash is fantastic. The service is freindly and efficient, the cafe is decorated in very kitsch and cheerful style, with red checked table cloths and vintage product adverts on the wall. I cannot recommend it strongly enough, it's simple english sausage and mash cooked perfectly. I cannot vouch for the meat sausages, but the vegetarian food is great, I have never had vegetarian sausages and gravy that tasted this good!

I have only ever been to the Portobello Sausage & Mash and can say it works! Styled like an old school canteen with even more old school photography on the walls. Great for a quick bite to eat. Choose from a range of sausages and mash combo add them together and hey presto. All the traditional sausages and inventive mash you could ask for. It even caters for the vegetarians. As I over heard a northern man say once, "Cant go wrong"

Went to the Portobello branch the other night and had a fantastic meal. This was my first visit and the waitress helped me to negotiate the vast amount of choice of sausages and recommended East Indian and venison sausages. The sausages were lovely and so was the cheese and rosemary mash and port and redcurrant gravy which accompanied it. Although full, I had to try the apple crumble. I hadn't had since my Granny made it for me about 20 years ago. It brought back all the childhood memories.

The waitress was lovely, happy and most of all helpful. Very reasonably priced. Its nice to find some where that I can eat in regularly without having to go through the pretentions of an occasion out.
