I ate at Woodlands in Marylebone Lane last night after it was recommended to me by a friend.

Excellent food and brilliant service. I had the Delhi Royal Thali and loved it. Fresh curries all very well spiced but not too hot. The breads were hot and fresh too. The lemon rice was something I had never had before, special.

I will certainly be back....simply wonderful.

Very bland, overpriced food in decrepit surroundings. Dirty toilets. Service was decent. Rice prices were ridiculous.

Woodlands has got to be the best Indian Veggie Restaurant that I have eaten in, I went last night, after not being able to go there for over a year due to business commitments and it was incredible. The Staff were so good, I asked them to choose the meal for me and my Partner and was not dissapointed, it was brilliant, their starters are something out of a dream, so don't miss out on them.

Have been to the same chain in Piccadilly and enjoyed it, but ate here in March 2007 and it was terrible.

The food was bland, over-priced (almost £5 for ordinary pilau rice and breads) and runny. The worst was a vegetable curry which consisted of nothing but lots of bland, luke-warm sauce, a few tiny bits of cauliflower and what looked like tinned carrots and green beans.

The staff kept pressuring us to order more (suggesting a bigger beer, more starters, sides, dessert, coffee etc.) - some element of this is normal in London, but it was too much.

The bill for one small starter, two veggie curries, one rice, two breads and two small beers came to over £40 excluding service, which was not good value.

It was really quiet and I'm not surprised!

I was taken here for my Birthday and as I adore Indian food I was hoping it wouldn't dissapoint and I certainly wasn't dissapointed. It was one of the most wonderful meals I've ever had and the staff were absolutly charming and made us feel so welcome. It wasn't cheap by any means but I have had cravings for the food ever since! Can't wait to go back.

This is one of my favourite restaurants. I've never had a bad meal here and the service is always really friendly. The perfect place for a lazy brunch.

The service is very friendly and the atmosphere cozy and simple. The price of main items seems fair at 6 pounds or so but when you need to add a bowl of rice at 5 pounds then the bill builds up. The portions are small as well. Pricey for a vegetarian restaurant but the food is good and very tasty.

Lovely quiet location tucked away in the west end. It has the appearance of an upmarket smart place, with its stylish modern decor but is informal and friendly. The service cannot be faulted - highly attentive staff that don't hover, but seem to materialise as if by magic when you need something, happy to make food recommendations. Having said that, there's barely a need to recommend any dish in particular as everything is superb. Our bill was a little higher than your average Indian restaurant, but this isn't an average place and we did order enough to feed a small army because we couldn't make our minds up which delicious feast to have! Thalis are good value, however - there's something for everyone here!

I was really impressed by this Indian veg. restaurant. To find such nice Indian food in London was unimaginable. At one moment I thought I am in India. Nice atmosphere and nice staff. I would definately like to visit again.
