Woodlands (Chiswck)

The worst Indian restaurant that I have ever been in! Being a veggie, I was very excited about this place. Oh dear! What a crashing disappointment. My vegetable Bhaji was watery and tasteless, and, get this, was made using a packet of mixed frozen mixed veg. The spinach was also straight out of the freezer. Horrible! There were 2 waiters, who were just this side of being rude. We were kept waiting for hours, despite the restaurant being empty. Easy to see why now. Between us, we asked the waiter 10 times for a jug of water. They just about managed that eventually. I would never go back.

The food and service here are both always great. Fantastic choice of dosas and other southern dishes - try the special upma - as well as drinks with a number of nice wines. It's usually about half to three quarters full, so there is a nice atmosphere, without being too crowded. This also means the service is pretty good and you should be able to find a table at no notice. Recommended.

Popped in for a quick lunch and tried the lunch special. It consisted of a dosa and a few side dishes all absolutely delicious and adequately filling. Brilliant value for about £7. I was the only customer so service was pretty good too - but the atmosphere wasn't! Recommened.
