I ate here with a group of friends in july 2006. The servie was fine and the food was fine..but the prices are way above the level of either. Is it too much too ask from a 'rare' rib of beef for over £27 that it not be well done. It was such a beautiful piece of meat that i couldn't see it thrown away, but it spoilt my evening. In short...the wrong price.

I have been to this extra busy restaurant with some friends and after having left there I wondered why on earth peole go there for the horrible food and disgusting service.

It took them 15 minutes to take our orders and another 30 minutes to bring the food, which was not what we had ordered. So we waited another 30 minutes for the food which arrived cold and tasteless and eventually they made us pay 12% service. As one of the other reviewers said it is a pity this restaurant occupied a fantastic place in the Duke of York Sq. I have the impression that people just love to go to expensive Chelsea restaurants to show off.

I arrived with a new date Thursday evening not having booked a table. The restaurant was fully booked due to the Chelsea flower show. The manageress managed to jugle the bookings and accommodated us. The food was absolutely delicious using 1st class ingredients. The service was very good although we did send the waiter away 3 times initially as we had not even looked at the menu. Looking forward to Sunday lunch with the girls.....fab find.

Consistently impeccable food with exceptionally attentive service and an ever changing and interesting menu. Good value pasta and risotto dishes and although the meat and fish is more dear the quality makes up for it. Must try the stuffed courgette flowers if ever on the menu.

I've been here five times over a couple of years; each time I've eaten a different dish and each time I've been amazed. The prices are high, but then I didn't pay. However, if you can afford it, this place is an absolute must. Best Italian Restaurant I know in London. The service was excellent, but that may be because the bill payer was a regular and knew the staff well. The atmosphere is pleasant, but hardly notice it for the food. Food this good is a luxury, but a luxury some people never experience their entire lives. Enjoy. But please don't ruin it by expecting the staff to shine your shoes.

Lovely location. Service was impersonal but efficient. The food was actually quite good, with one exception - my pasta with anchovies, fennel and sultanas had absolutely no fennel in it. They had added a good amount of parsley to compensate, but this is rather insulting to a diner's intelligence I think.

When you are being lied to, about the availablbe food dishes from the manager, then you cannot expect much from a restaurant..It is a waste that this restaurant occupies a great spot in Duke of York Square

This restaurant never fails to impress. The food is always nothing short of superb - well presented, expertly prepared and I am in no doubt using the finest ingredients possible. The setting in Duke of Yorks is ideal and the staff are always friendly and attentive.

The restaurant remains my favorite in the area, if not in London and I can wholeheartedly reccommend it to anyone.

I've visited this restaurant on a number on occassions now, 3 times in a large group and about half a dozen times with just a few of us and have found each one of the visits hard to beat. The menu and wine list are excellent, the service friendly and the food, in particular the pasta and risotto, is difficult to fault. The fresh mozzarella is also something else. The outside area is great even in the winter - many a bottle of wine has been finished under the outdoor heaters. I've recommended it many friends and have heard just as many impressed reviews as this one. It's safe to say i'll continue to go back.

I have been several times this year and have to say it is my favourite restaurant in london .Food is fantastic , fois gras pasta is a must.You have to try a selection of the martinis before you sit down.Best mozzarella in London and awesome ham.No better place to spend saturday lunch , when the summer comes no doubt it will be jam packed outside as well.Lovely setting ,and very friendly staff.Unusualy has 2 head chefs who both used to work at Zafferano and you can tell by the amazing quality of the food that they are both very experienced and talented.highly recommended
