The Well

I booked a table at The Well on Saturday night for 2 of the girls for my sisters hen weekend. The organisation before the event was fantastic, thanks to Nadia. We preordered and the menu was good, I asked for it to be changed sightly and this was done without a fuss. I wanted to drop off some 'favours' for the table before the event and was able to do this two weeks in advace. When we arrived at the restaurant, the table was set out with the favours an looked lovely. The manager was attentive and made the evening feel like a special dinner party meal with no washing up!! The restaurant allowed us to play Mr and Mrs and accomodted any requests for more wine, food etc. without any fuss. The food was tasty, the wine was plentiful and the service excellent. I would definitely recommend and if I was in Clerkenell again I would go back. Thank you to everyone involved.

I popped in for lunch here last week and was very impressed. Quick, unobtrusive service that took this diner’s quirks (‘I like my steak slightly pink in the middle’) in their stride. Food was delightful in its presentation with sturdy chips, golden to the colour and fluffy inside with no crumbling. My steak came with a lively peppercorn sauce that all but danced on the tongue. My friend was also very impressed with her tuna nicoise with its eggs slightly runny in the middle. Happy to recommend and would return in a trice.

I recently hosted my birthday party at The Well. The staff were very obliging, helpful and friendly. The food was great also....It was an easy way to organise an event stress free!

The venue is also very nice, classy little cocktail bar downstairs.

Just wanted to add a great thank you to the Well for making my birthday celebrations there very special. We had food first, before moving on to the bar downstairs. The food was fantastic, and the staff was absolutely great. Everyone was very attentive and super nice. The Well is definitely to be recommended.

Went to my friends birthday party at The Well last week and being the type of person who ventures out to lots of bars & pubs I have to tell how happily taken aback by how fabulous this little gem is. Its a pub upstairs very clean & tidy, and downstairs is a cocktail lounge! Complete with aquariums in the walls and with our own bar just for the party. Birthday girl said there was no hire fee! and the bar service was prompt and very friendly Some food was put on which was delicious and the staff seemed really cheery about the whole thing. We plugged in ipods to their stereo system so we could listen to whatever we wanted. All in all it was a great private party venue. Highly recommend.

We stopped in after arriving from the states, exhausted but hungry. I had read reviews on line and and thought we should give it a try. Very pleasant hostess set us up with reservations for later that day. Dinner was excellent, steak cooked perfectly, no problems with a substitution on the potato for a lovely mushroom risotto, sea breem was also cooked perfectly. And the chocolate dessert was to die for. Service was prompt and very friendly, we were joined later by a friend for a glass of wine, there were no problems squeezing in one more.

All in all it was a wonderful experience. Very good food, good atmosphere, good service and a nice wine selection.

This will be a place we return to on our next trip back!

Judging value for the money is a bit difficult given the exchange rate for my weak american dollars against the strong pound.

I went there as part of a party of four a few weeks ago and we weren't very impressed. We debated whether to have starters or not and I'm glad that we eventually did, because we all found the main course portions very small. Don't go if you're hungry!

We found the main course took much to long to serve (we had been almost an hour in the resto when it arrived). The food itself was fine, nothing remarkable. We also found it quite expensive for the food served.

Overall, this has been one of our more forgettable London eating experiences.

Great meal last Friday night, steak perfectly cooked and washed down with a nice bottle of Bardolino. Staff were very helpful and smiley which is so rare these days!

Will def reccomend for eating out or simply for a drink.
