Went to the Fox and Hounds for Sunday lunch and we couldn't have been happier, my partner and I had a chorizo board to start which was absolutely scrummy and ample for two. My partner had a beef roast dinner which was fabulous, the vegetables were the BEST vegetables I have tried in a pub (I had to wrestle a couple off him to try!) and the rest of the meal looked delicious. I had the duck stir fry, the duck was cooked excellently and the seasoning was divine.
Even though we were stuffed the deserts that were being served to the other guests looked to good to miss out on, my partner had a gigantic pavlova topped with fresh cream and strawberries which despite the size he managed to polish off as it was very light and he said it finished the meal off nicely. I had the sticky toffee pudding, I'd like to think I'm a bit of a connoisseur when it comes to sticky toffee pud and this certainly didn't disappoint!
We had a bottle of red wine which the lovely waitress recommended to us (and very nice it was) and relaxed in the bar area after our meal with a cup of coffee and as the evening went on we decided to stay for a while and listen to the brilliant live music, which is apparently a regular Sunday night event and had another glass of wine!
We will definitely be back (probably next Sunday!) it's a lovely local pub with a warm and welcoming atmosphere, with a log fire which looks like it'll be particularly cosy in the winter time.
