Amazing food and quality service - I've been here twice over the last six months and both of them were great experiences.
The food is definitely quite unique in terms of flavour, the menu is what you'd exepct from most curry houses but be sure to ask for what you want. Having read a few people rave on about the Jalfrezi I tried this and agree, its mouthwatering.. never tried anything like that before!
It's also not overly expensive, and while the location's maybe not be ideal for some, it's nice to get away from the hustle of the city...

I recently visited this restaurant with my wife and son to celebrate my wifes birthday. The experience was very mixed. The restaurant decor and atmosphere are very nice. Some of the food we had was excelent, some ok and some of poor quality. The shiskebab was tasty but cold and pale looking. The portion of salad served with it was very small. The onion bhajis were undercooked. My methi lamb was a bit tasteless and pilau rice very oily, but my son enjoyed the chicken Dhansak and my wife enjoyed the tandori chiken and mixed vegetables.
As we arived at 6.30pm on a Saturday the restaurant was not yet too busy and we enjoyed a quiet conversation, that is until the waiter turned on a big flat screen TV hanging directly above our heads. This totally spoiled the atmosphere for us. We were not even asked if we objected to the television being turned on. In addition we felt rushed. Overall it only took one hour to finish our meal. I also feel that the restaurant is overpriced comparing to other similar restaurants in Harrow. They even charge for pickles!
I am not sure that we will come again

Recently went to the vintage for a birthday dinner, there were around 16 of us in total and we all enjoyed the experience very much.
The food is extraordinary, very tasty and just good indian food, the service and ambiance are great and we were impressed with how attentive the staff were with a group of our size. I would strongly recommend the Tilapia and the Baby Chicken (which I was told you have to order ahead of time), absolutely amazing... Ive asked the Vintage to cater a work event coming up soon and cant wait..
Outstanding!!

I can't understand anyone saying the manager is rude? It can't be Mr Patel and his wife who run this restaurant and are always there when we go (we do go quite often!). They are so nice to our family including our 3 not-always-perfect kids! They give them extra drinks and chocs at the end of the meal and we always feel so welcome and comfortable. Dont let these comments about the manager put you off - sounds like someone has a grudge? The food is amazing - always really really good. If you like Indian food you need to try this place. Then decide for yourself.

We have been to this restaurant several times over the last 4 or 5 years, and previously have had a good meal with a pleasing level of service.
Our latest visit found us arriving there on a mid-week evening and the restaurant was fairly empty. We ordered a selection of starters, and main courses and were enjoying a reasonable meal (although not as good as we have had there previously). Towards the end of the meal, the manager sat down at the far end of the restaurant (we were near the window/entrance), and switched the tv station over. It had previously been on a channel playing indian music which obviously helped the atmosphere. By now, we were the only customers in the place, although it was still not very late.
The manager had changed the channel over to watch an indian sit-com which clearly did not help the atmosphere. We asked the waiter if it would be possible to put some music back on. He went off, spoke to the manager, and a moment later the tv was changed and the music returned.
What we could not then believe was the 5 or 6 minutes later the manager clearly decided that his viewing choice was more important than a request from paying customers, so he changed the channel back over to the awful sit-com.
I commented to the waiter who went over to the manager at the far end of the restaurant who then called across the restaurant asking what the problem was (over the noise of the sit-com). I gestured that we could not hear him, so he turned off the tv and shouted across the restaurant asking what the problem was. I have never experienced such ignorant and downright rude behaviour from any person in a restaurant.
We asked the waiter for the bill and paid (subtracting the service charge and explaining to the waiter why we would not be paying any service charge). He did not seem to even blink at this - maybe it's a regular occurrance. We then left.
As I said, we've previously had several very good meals at this restaurant. After this episode, we will not be returning. That man with such a rude attitude should not be in any job which involves dealing with customers.

I have been meaning to put a review and now have the chance.
We went to Vintage on New Years Eve to celebrate 2010, as we live locally and I used to go to Vintage about 15 years ago and liked it.
I was really looking forward to this restaurant and so were the kids. I booked a table for 7.30pm and we got there for 7.15pm. It was me, husband, 2 kids age, 3 & 7 and my mum. So 5 of us.
We were waiting for someone to see us to our table, noone came, the waiters just looked at us, hoping another waiter would acknowledge us, but to be fair they waiters were busy.
When we were shown to our table, it wasn’t really a table big enough, so the manager put another table at the end. We were waiting for a table cloth and he said that’s our table. We thought ok never mind they are busy, so we sat down, and the layout of the table was so awkward we could not sit properly, as the manager attached another table which wasn’t even the right size, I can believe they didn’t even out a table cloth on it. By the time we sat down and uncomfortably settled it was 7.25pm.
As soon as we sat down the manager said, oh you ready to order, we said we need a menu, he gave us the menu and 30 seconds later he came back, my husband said, could we have a few minutes pls, then the manager said, well can you order the drinks.
We order the drink and popodums. Then he came back and we ordered our starters he said, can you order the main! we said we have not decided on the main, could we have the starters and we will decide on the main.
The manager was getting angry and said you need to order everything together, as I need this table as we are busy tonight. I thought OK understandably it’s New years eve. But we don’t want to order food for the sake of it, because he needs the table.
Our popodums arrived, and we said we will just have the starters then. Just as my kids were having the popodums, the manager said I wont make money from people like you, and took the popodums away from my kids whist they were eating and took the drinks away. We were only in the restaurant for 15 minutes and we were being rushed as if we were a burden, when I had already booked the table in advance.
I just sat there GOBSMACKED I have never been treated like that in a restaurant, he was damn rude and told us to leave the restaurant. I just sat there, because I could not believe he took the food away from kids! As we were leaving, I told the other customers the manager is damn rude.
The manager needs a wake up call, and appreciated the money he has and is well fed. If he carries on like this he will suffer in his later life because of the way his has treated people. I must say I don’t feel sorry for myself or his customers, but how must he be treating his staff?

We went to this restaurant last night, and we received the worst service. Our food was taken from our tables halfway while eating it. And they overcharge for everything especially the pickles which they also took away halfway. I think they should also charge for tap water. The food was horrible as well, no taste, small portions and high prices.

I've eaten at the Vintage for a few years now and whenever I have business clients from as far as California and Sydney, they 'demand' that we go back to the Vintage. The food is consistently a very high standard and nothing in the area compares. During refurbishment a couple of years ago I ended up as a 'food critic' sampling every other Indain Restaurant as far as Pinner, Rayners Lane, Harrow Weald and ended up very dissapointed.
It's obvious 'The Vintage' buy the best quality ingredients, prepare everything fresh to order for the 'true' Indian Connossieur. You can taste the different spices used in every dish as compared to most restaurant where the dishes all look and taste the same.
I hate writing reviews as this 'gem' will soon be sampled by all....but they deserve it. As for having to pay for the 'pickles', I've heard that McDonalds provides free tomato sauce, so maybe the previous complainent should eat there!

The Vintage is quite simply the best Indian restaurant I've ever been to. Run by Mr & Mrs Patel, you're always made to feel welcome and the food is astonishing. Unbeatable. Couldn't recommend it more.
