This is a lovelpy place to eat.The family are very hard working and the sons who wait tables make the place. The food was lovely we had all greek with dolmades to start yum yum, kleftiko just like being back in greece.I just think a few touches like more side veg and homemade puds rather than the frozen variety would make it even more special. Its the only homely place left in wimbeldon

Welcoming looking restaurant with a nice ambience and good service let down by very substandard food. There is just no excuse for serving tasteless frozen vegetables and oven chips, at least not at these prices. It seemed that the steak was the only part of the meal that was actually fresh. We won't be going back.

Four of us had a meal on Sunday evening and found this restaurant to be furnished like a coffee shop with the banquette seating very uncomfortable as it was the wrong height and required you to constantly lean forward. The food was mediocre with no real style or taste, the side order of green beans was either frozen or had been stewing for some time as they had no texture left. Service was average. For the price of the dishes would expect table linen and some comfort we will definitely not return.

I have been to the The Stage Door on three occasions and must say that I cant wait to return.

Recently refurbished the decor in the restaurant is modern and chic, the staff are extremely friendly and most importantly the food is excellent!

The taramasalata is a must to start, the best I have tasted...and mains such as the klefiko and chicken kiev are delicious.

Love it!

Went there tonight disapointing chips, tined button mushrooms, very small t bone steak, steak under cooked when asked for it to be well done. Very over priced for what you get. Will not be going back.

Went here on a Sunday evening for a family dinner - there were 10 of us. The service was very attentive and helpful. -The steaks we head were absolutely delicious, though she side orders of chips and saute potoatoes were a bit disappointing - seems as though they were pre-preapred, not made to order.

Great restaurant and a complete throwback to the 60s.....the days when an avocado was exotic, there was no such thing as 'modern European' food and prawn cocktails came equipped with a little metal holder with which to squeeze your lemon.

The decor matches this innocent kitch approach so don't go expecting a smart modern sleek operation - but then this is the charm of the place. Portions are MASSIVE, with chips AND rice as given. The humus is incredibly garlicky so make sure your date also 'tries' some.

Not sure who runs it but the old man and his wife bustle around doing their best to make sure you are looked after in their efficient and slightly cranky way.

But it is good fun and my Dad, who likes to think of himself as something of a restaurant expert, loved it - apparently the Stage Door reminded him of when he was first married to Mum in the 60s and they couldn't really afford to eat out and going to a restaurant was a complete treat.

I think this has to be one of the best steak restaurants in london and their Greek menu is unsurpassed. The staff are friendly and attentive and the food is always exellent. I have eaten probably everything on the menu due to the fact that I have been there over 100 times whereas I judge a restaurant by the first visit. Being that Wimbledon is not a predominantly Greek area and North London where I originate from is, it beats all the North London competition hands down. Although I have not taken a greek person with me to judge its authenticity I am assuming they would corroberate my thoughts too.
