Dan's Restaurant

This restaurant has indeed changed its name to C Garden which seems a bit silly as it is, by all accounts, something of an institution. One of our party had been many times before and tells me that the garden was previously a real garden whereas now it has been paved over. Sadly it was a miserable day when were there anyway. 15 of us went on Saturday lunchtime to celebrate a birthday. The new management and staff are entirely Italian and they were warm and welcoming. The table was a slightly odd L shape but that is a minor quibble. The food was mostly excellent. I had perfectly executed scallops followed by a really good Sea Bass. My cheese was a little chilled which was a shame but really the food was of a high standard. We all had 3 or 4 courses and the wine, Champagne and Prosecco flowed. The bill was £800, not too bad for 15 of us, and we were there for over 4 hours, at no point being put under pressure to leave. We will certainly be back, hopefully on a sunny day to try the outside area at the back.

The place seems to be called C Garden now. It's owned by the owner of Carpaccio, but this place is much better: less noisy, reasonably priced and bigger portions.
The garden itself makes it very special. However, it gets dark at night and a candle on the tables would help.
The food is good quality and reasonably priced: our starters were amazing whereas both our mains were just ok.
The service was friendly but very very slow and after waiting for over 30 minutes between the starter and the main they got us the wrong dish! The waiter apologised and said he would have taken the service off the bill but he didn't.
Altogehter a good place to have a nice meal outside in the area (if you are not in a hurry).

It seems the restaurant is no longer called Dan's but Garden C? We went there a few days ago and sat outside. very good for alfresco dining. The food wasn't that spectacular. Had cuttlefish which was a little bland and fishy. Not a vegetarian option in sight. We asked the waitress for a pasta dish but to omit the prawns (for our friend) She arrived with the plate of pasta and prawns on top ..
Main courses were mixed bag of great (lamb) and ok (pasta).

We dined in Dan's garden last Friday and had, as always, a wonderful evening. These people are charming and efficient and there is always a good atmosphere. Fabulous, aromatic cous-cous, great starters, meats, fish, the lot! If you live in Chelsea and don't have a garden, this is the place to go! If it's raining, dining inside is just as good!

Excellent restaurant, thoroughly enjoyed my meal, I went with my wife and she agrees that the food was delicious. The price was reasonable and service was more friendly than one experiences in a lot of places these days. It's such a shame that one has to look so hard to find a nice meal out in London, and there are places with great reputations that could learn a thing or two from Dans.

We have been there twice and enjoyed the food and service on each occasion. Being walking distance it will now be a regular as it is the best value for money in the SW3 area
