Daphne

One of my favourite restaurants in London. I was introduced to it by my husband and in-laws nearly 8 years ago and in that time the quality of food and service is still as high as it always was. My husbands family have been going to Daphnes for over 20 years and have found the same.

Food is fantastic, always a great selection of specials on the board that they will happily run through with every table. The restaurant is family owned and a very friendly and warm welcome always awaits. Service is wonderful and the longevity of their staff shows with their skill and knowledge.

Great house wine, superb value for money. I'll be back there this weekend for my husbands birthday!

Highly recommended.

Service is warm and friendly and the food is excellent and very good value. This is my favourite Greek restaurant.

I have been several times over the past few years and have always had a lovely time with no complaints.

It is particularly pleasant on a warm summer evening when you can sit on the roof terrace.

I recommend the meat mezze if you are feeling hungry and there is also an extensive menu covering all the usual Greek dishes plus a wide choice of fresh fish.

The restaurant is run by staff who genuinely care about the customers and it makes such a change from all the chain restaurants around London.

They do service at another level: effortless, friendly, and transparent. Superb service all around!

The food is the real show that for me and my mum began with tarama and octopus. I've rarely had more tasty dishes and the octopus was more enjoyable than any sushi version I've had (albeit this was cooked) - tender,delicate, mouth watering.

My main course was the special red snapper - delectable and recommended. I don't want to forget about the white beans meze which I will always order there from now on.

I found out about this restaurant right here and wanted to return the favor by reporting back to others how special it is. A++++

btw - although I went with my mum, the atmosphere is ideal for couples etc.

My husband and I went to this place last Friday along with few friends. We ordered a few Mezze's which were delicious - though the Greek Salad was not as great as found on few islands in Greece. The mains were also good except that there were only two vegetarian options and out of which one of them was Moussaka which has aubergine. So one of our friend had absolutely no choice as she was vegetarian and did not eat any Aubergine.

Fabulous food great service and a really nice place to spend an evening. The hospitality at this restaurant was simply fantastic, a smile and a genuine welcome greet you on your arrival and it gets even better as the night goes on. Just leave enough time to enjoy this great greek restaurant.

We're also surprised at some of these reviews. We used to be regulars at Daphne while we lived around the corner, and still travel across London to go back now. The meat mezze is a fantastic deal and includes everything from fabulous dips to luscious grills, not to mention the great grape leaves. They also serve late, which is a plus in this town.
