A great space. But unfriendly, indifferent service and an uninspired menu. Just go for cocktails and appetizers.

I must say that having been a fairly regular diner at ****'* now for 3 years or so I feel its standards have certainly slipped and I am not planning on going back again. We had dinner there a couple of Saturday nights ago, and whilst it was lovely sitting outside, the food was very mediocre and very overpriced. The starters were very small, with mean helpings of bread, and my fish was overcooked. I was particularly incensed to be charged £3.95 for a tiny portion of spinach- 2 mouthfulls- and with deserts charged at around £7 I feel *****'* is trading on its reputation and ripping its customers off.

Had dinner outside on their beautiful little space out on a lovely square at Julie;s yesterday. Despite the setting being lovely Julie's is an absolute and a repeated disgrace. The bill came up to £100 for 3 people, without wine and starters. The food is very very bad, the service slow and not friendly. Overall this place is so sloppily run, they desperately need a new and inspired chef and staff that like what they are doing. I swore to myself that I will never be going again, it was such a disappointment - again.

Not cheap and very average food which was a real let down as this restaurant is located in a very nice area and the decor is cosy and interesting. We went on Good Friday and sat upstairs but the place was empty with the only sound being the waiting staff who were chatting very loudly to each other. I'd heard such good reviews about this place, but foodwise it really was just very ordinary. Maybe we just caught them on a bad night.

Do you have a special occasion for Sunday brunch? Julie's is the place to go in the Notting Hill/Holland Park area. I took my wife there last Sunday and we're still talking about it. The atmosphere is very lively and friendly without being intrusive. They also have a "babysitting" facility and there were two babies seated near us in high chairs. The food was amazing. My wife had the roast chicken and I had the pork with crackling and apple sauce. Nothing was left by the time we were done. Needless to say we're dying to go back.
