These reviews are quite old 2005/2006?

I went there last week, the main restaurant downstaires was quite busy in comparison to the rest of the restaurants around Notting Hill and Mayfair. They must be doing something right.

The service was great, the food was excelent, can't fault it .

Having lived down the road for a year I finally went there last night and wished I hadn't left it so long.

Awesome food served in a nice environment sat outside in Clarendon Cross surrounded by some of the ponciest and least useful shops in London..

Crispy skinned salmon was sublime and my partner loved the butternut squash lasagne. Shame about the service charge, but I will definitely be going back......

I was tempted back to Julies recently after a long absence only to be

reminded of the wonderful décor - if only I had gone with a man - so pretty

and romantic. The food was delicious and the Veuvre Cliquot chilled to

perfection. The staff were warm and friendly and I highly recommend to

anyone looking to eat good food in the most romantic surroundings to visit

Julies - I can't wait to go back.

I read other comments with interest as it seems there are two types of customers rather than two different Julie’s. If you want chrome and smoked glass, surrounded by EmporiOiks, then other parts of London, or possibly Germany, are more suitable. This, after all, is Holland rather than Finsbury Park and thus comes at a premium. And if you are secure enough to be warm and friendly to the staff, they will respond in like manner. I was at Julie’s a couple of weeks ago, had a wonderful time with great food in lovely surroundings; it wasn’t cheap, but factored all together it was good value. I will be there again soon, comfortable in the knowledge that some others wont!

i had the pleasure of dining there the other evening - the place was very busy and very much like a club atmoshere with friendly and helpful staff. The food and wines were extremely good and would go back without a second thought.

Still one of the best value restaurants in London.

I've been going here for longer than I care to remember and have never been disappointed.

It's fantastic for family Sunday lunches or romantic dinners ( I've been known to do both in one day ! )

Menu is great

Service is great

Atmosphere is comfortably quirky

And almost as importantly (!) the food is excellent

And with all the above I consider it great value for money....

This used to be a real favourite of mine. It's a beautiful, quirky space on a lovely, quiet street in Holland Park, perfect for drinks on the terrace on a summer evening. Sadly it's really taken a tumble. I went there last night with a friend, and the food was fine, but nothing more, and it is ludicrously overpriced. £17.50 for a small plate of liver and mash, and an eye-watering £7.50 for trifle in a tiny glass. The service was bumbling and incompetent -- the waiter even suggested rounding up our bill, as if the £11 service charge wasn't enough. Please do something about this Julie's! It looked like we were the only diners in the place -- maybe that's not such a huge surprise. Shame.
