What at first appears to be a fairly ordinary city bar turns out to have a very impressive restaurant too. The decor/ambience is quite minimalist and fairly relaxed but the food was delicious. From the 3 varieties of bread (including sourdough and rye) on offer to the simple but mouthwatering oven roast tomato and nut salad to the sumptuous delights of venison fillet and game sausage, all dishes were excellent. Served by friendly and welcoming staff and surprisingly inexpensive for this part of town. Highly recommended.

great food and service in the city - my number one for client dining.

minutes from our offices (Deutsche) yet tucked away down middlesex street!

went for a client lunch for four at 1pm. had the venison starter followed by the lamb. both were cooked the requested medium-rare and both presented very nicely with excellent flavours. no room for dessert but my colleagues chocolate trifle looked the business. the menu has changed since my last visit in december and there is an interesting collection of art on the walls. a very enjoyable experience.
