My boyfriend took me here for my birthday last week. The service was good and efficient although we were seated right next to the kitchen and apparently all the waiters have firecrackers up their bums as they literally sprinted to and fro - it was entertaining watching the near-misses though (such skill). Our waiter also seemed to have a lot of pressure on him to get us out in time for the next table to the extent that he looked stricken when we asked if we could wait 20 mins before dessert - and suddenly couldn't speak English. The food was very very average and far too average for the prices. Overall I thought the restaurant was very reasonably priced for one within this chain, but the food didn't match up. My partner ordered the 'Breadcrumbed Veal' which was just over £20 - when it came it was just a veal schnizel with a bagged up lemon - that was it, no sauce or even decoration - a very bare plate and of course all veggies are extra - which I dont' mind but I do object to paying 20 quid for something I could have bought from the freezer section of my local supermarket. I had the scallops and although prettily presented, they were nothing compared to what I've eaten at similarly rated restaurants and lacked any kind of accompaniment which again brought down the quality of the meal. Overall I was very disappointed because I knew how much effort my other half had put into researching the reviews of this place and wanted it to be just right. I would recommend spending your money somewhere else. Sorry.

We dined here last Sunday for our anniversary. The weather was superb and were seated centre table right on the terrace. Great surroundings, very casual. Food was superb, service was excellent. We had Octopus to start followed by the Chicken, washed down with the best Honeycomb ice-cream I have ever tasted.

I went here for dinner last night and have to say I was left a little disappointed. I thought the service was appalling. It took us about 25mins before someone came to take our order...I had to get up by the end to go and find someone!

Asked for another glass of rose, which seemed to take a lifetime!

The food was good, but nothing special. The only good thing about the restaurant was the decor, it was elegant and sophisticated. Maybe we had an off day with the waiting staff, but I won't be rushing back there in a hurry.

Went a few weeks ago as a surprise for me organised by my boyfriend. The service was faultless, the general manager was very friendly and our waitress knowledgable of the dishes and wines. It was good value for money and a very special evening. We sat in the front of the restaurant with the front open which was to me, better than being in the back room. Would definitely recommend it

I dined here recently for the first time after recommendations by friends and I was not disappointed.

The warm greeting by the front of house staff set the standard for the evening ahead. The ambience was smart but relaxed with the glass roof and citrus trees in the dining room adding a Tuscan, al-fresco feel to the evening.

Both the food and wine menus offered great choice, the food was exceptional and the service unrivalled.

I have just read some of the negative comments. Well something has changed there is all I can say!

Went there last week with my girl friend.

From the moment we arrived we were looked after so well. The message was "we are Itallian, relax, enjoy, what can we do to make it special for you" and they did. Even the General Manager checked that all was well, and it was. The GM should you be there when he is, is a tall fine gentleman. He cares and it shows, both through him and his staff. They smiled and made the wonderful food taste even better. This is one place not to miss. Is it expensive? NO not for what you get! Live for today I say !

My fiance and i recently went to Daphne's and had their set price lunch menu, which was extremely good value. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and the service is exemplary, although somewhat formal in this day and age. An excellent venue for a business lunch in that respect. The food was fresh and pleasant, although not outstanding - plenty of room for improvement, particularly with presentation. However, the marinaded chicken with Italian style couscous on the special lunch menu was faultless.

We ate here and I must admit it was the most disappointing dining experience I have ever had. The service was bad, no sooner than you left down your cultery the plate was removed..even if the other person at the table was eating. We were a table of 2 ona Monday night with 2 other tables. Food was average at best.

Disappointing and expensive is all I can say
