Nirvana Restaurant In London

Came here on a Saturday evening a couple of weeks ago with my mother and sister and we had a great time! The food was delicious, the staff courteous, attentive and helpful, the layout different (we had a little room to ourselves) and the entire experience was very enjoyable and relaxing. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone!

Suprisingly empty for a Saturday night when we went.

There was only one other couple in there but we perservered.... and thank god!

The food was excellent, the service even better and I felt bad for them that it was so empty!

Have also ordered and that was great too. VERY good value for money!

After reading many good reviews about Nirvana, I was not let down and definitley impressed by most aspects of my visit. I went with a small group of friends for a quiet birthday dinner and was pleased with my choice of restaurant. The food was delicious, well-flavoured and went well with the wine recommended by the friendly waiters. Service was excellent: the restaurant was fairly busy (as they are on Friday evenings), but waiters were friendly and food arrived right on time. I would strongly recommend anyone who is a fan of Indian food to visit Nirvana -you will not be let down! I shall definitley be going again! Thank you, for such a great time! =)

Well i went to Nirvana a few months back in the summer and the food was fantastic, they had a wide variety and i would recommend this, but try not to order too much food as they do come in big portions as when i went there with my partner we had a lot of left overs. The staff were very polite and always helping out. However i was suprised at the picture shown as the restaurant isn't as big as seen in the picture. I arrived at the restaurant at 9.00pm and it was packed and fairly small

I went to this restaurant with a few friends last week, and I was very impressed with the quality of food. The service was good and overall, this restaurant is amongst a handful of Indian restaurants that I would visit again....it's a shame it wasn't busier that night (which it certainly deserves!!).

Very dissapointed. i had friends visiting from overseas and knowing they love indian food wanted to impress them with this restaurant. i read the reviews and thought wow there isn't a better place around. To the contrary... we went there on friday around 8:30pm and it was empty...i mean this is London on a friday night! we felt claustrophobic as the place is underground with no windows.... the food was ok waiters were courteous but overall it was a traumatic experience! i would not go there again and definitly not recommended it to anyone.

Have never been to the restaurant, but we get deliveries twice a month. The food is fantastic! The lamb tikka, samosa, and the lam saag are fantastic. Very reasonable prices as well.

After finding your reviews of this restaurant too good to pass up, we decided to give it a try. It was late, on a Monday evening (9.45) and the restaurant was virtually empty, but we were greeted courteously, and allowed to take advantage of one of the private dining areas (which was a little less luxurious than it looked from a distance, but appealing nonetheless), and were treated to first class service as only Indians know how to do. We sampled the Tandoori mixed platter to start, and were blown away by the uniqueness of the spicing/flavours to each of the pieces (lamb chop, chicken tikka & Salmon tikka, as well as minced lamb - not my favourite, it's Chicken Tikka for me when I go back!!)

Next I adventurously attempted the Chicken Zacuti (with coconut), and was surprised to find that it contained fresh grated coconut, not the dessicated variety, the chicken simply melted in my mouth, and the flavours were immaculate (spicy but not too hot) - I was in Indian Heaven. My companion chose the Lamb with ginger, again very fresh tasting, with just the right amount of ginger. My Saag Bhagi was the dry fried variety, not the 'curried spinach' that some restaurants serve up, and was delicately spiced, and the perfect accompaniment. The only things that weren't out of the ordinary were the 'sides' naan & pilau rice. The decor was wonderful (I'm always surprised to find that Deep Purple and red actually do work!) and their artwork is truly modern, with 'Warhol-esque' originals on canvas by an artist they appear to have agreed to showcase, as contact details for the artist are on each frame. I was very impressed with our waiter, also, who chatted to me while my companion was indisposed, actually noticing my 'indian' features and imploring me to 'check out' my heritage, as I have never been to my fathers country, Bangladesh, and furnishing us both with information on Indian history, which we requested. It was an altogether enjoyable experience that I will repeat as soon as I can. Four ****'s
