What a let down this place was. From the outside it looks cheerful, modern and inviting but these expectations were certainly not fulfilled. I had visited before with some friends for a few drinks in the bar and decided to bring my girlfriend back for a romantic meal for our anniversary. It appeared that the staff had changed somewhat since my last visit, and instead of being greeted with smiles we felt as if we had annoyed our waitress just by turning up! Having being shuffled into a corner and offered the specials at such a speed I had to wonder whether the plump south african girl would actually stop to breathe, we were left for at least 40 minutes before we were visited again. As it had taken so long to be asked for our order, we decided to order drinks and food all at once in an attempt not to be forgotten again. Our starters arrived after about half an hour, but our drinks did not arrive until ten minutes after that, by which time my girlfriend decided to order water with her cocktail in order to get rid of the saltiness of her starter....needless to say, the water was forgotten but the overpriced cocktails were not. The rest of the evening was much of the same, and we left feeling dissapointed. I would invest in some friendlier and more competent staff and perhaps a little atmosphere.

Always a pleasure to visit Kazan's. Certainly worth the journey from North London. A friendly atmoshere and attentive staff, you're made to welcome from the outset. But the food really sets this apart from the rest. I'm living in London's largest Turkish communities, and am a regular explorers of the multitude of restaurants open nearby. Yet I still find myself heading over to Earlsfield.
A south London treasure

Absolutely love this restaurant and i make sure i go back whenever i'm in Earlsfield. Having spent a considerable amount of time in Turkey itself, i have to say that the food in Kazans is actually better than most of what i sampled over there, and thats quite a feat.
The food is delicious, the atmosphere is really relaxed and i've always found the service to be excellent. I've had many enjoyable evenings in Kazans and i look forward to having many more.

I went to Kazans for the first time last night. The food was tasty and fresh and the atmosphere was very welcoming and relaxed. In addition to the good food the mojitos were exceptional- I will definately be going back.

I have visited Kazans on several occassions over the years and have always enjoyed myself. Overall an utterly good experience thanks to the gorgeous food and fantastic, friendly service- particularly from the owner. I will returning once again to Kazans ( the best restaurant in Earlsfield in my opinion) in the very future.

I am a regular at Kazans and I don't have a bad word to say about the place. It has a great choice of dishes and a fab wine list.
Looks like the staff has changed a bit recently, but not noticed any significant drop in service levels.

I ate here recently and you'd have to pay me to go back. Not only was the food merely average but it took absolutely forever to get to the table -almost 45 minutes for our starters and then another 45 after for our mains. The service too was shambolic. The pretty waitress was friendly but utterly useless as she struggled for 5 minutes at our table with the wine opener. When we questioned her on the menu she gave awkard, uninformative answers and it was only after further interrogation that she told us it was her first shift and she wasn't sure of the menu. Another member of staff was quickly summoned to answer our queries but myself and my partner found it irritating and unneccesary that this girl was sent to our table when she clearly isn't confident about the food and wine (and to be honest, doesn't appear to be confident in the industry as a whole)Bland food, long waits and untrained staff made this an altogether unsatisfying and forgettable experience.

Having failed to secure a table at the excellent Amaranth restaurant in Earlsfield my wife and I decided to give Kazan's a try. There were plenty of people inside and a Time Out accreditation to lull us into thoughts of good quality food being served on the premises.
To start we ordered falafel that was acceptable but nothing special. We also ordered smoked aubergine that was totally unpalatable. It was akin to eating a cold liquid bonfire that was fueled by hedge trimmings.
Main courses were squid with spinach that had a wonderful combination of cold tender squid and hot chewy squid. Our other main course was a brochette of lamb served with "homemade" tomato sauce. Whilst I a happy to report the lamb was well cooked and tender the very bitter liquidized tinned tomatoes totally ruined the dish.
Sorry Kazan but you score a very poorly and one local family will decline to spend any more of their hard earned money in your establishment.

This restaurant is really good. Not only does it look really nice, but the food is great and fresh, great value and the service is intimate and friendly. What else could you want from a local restaurant? Particularly as the restaurants and bars on the surrounding Garratt Lane are so utterly, jaw-achingly average that it's a wonder that all the self-satisfied yuppies that frequent them's house prices have actually tripled in value the last three years.
