II Pagliaccio

In the past I regulary went to Pagliaccios and had a great time! I have'nt been back for a while, but when I did, I can say with all honesty I will never return again. THe food was terrible, the atmosphere terrible and the service was not grest! When the bill came I had to repeatedly ask for our bill and when it did arrive I had to wait a further 20 minutes for it to be collected. In all honesty it's a great shame, It was a lovely and fun place to go, but now the staff turnover really has changed the entire place. I would not reccomend this restaurant unless you don't mind eating chewy, oily pasta or being shoved into a corner with a load of noisy girls on their hen night!!! GOOD LUCK!!!

Dear friends

I have been going to Il Pagliaccio for the last seven years and I would like to agree and disagree on some points.

It is true that recently the service has changed dramatically (for the worse unfortunately) due to a constant change of the waiting staff. Also there does not seem to be a capable person who is really in charge, who can really "run" the place, except for a bunch of kids.

However, I must say that the food in general is really good and the pizza is even better than in Italy itself.

I am a pizza "lover" and I am telling you, that pizza-chef of Il Pagliaccio is simply the best. Not only the pizza is superb looking and huge, but it is unearthly delicious as well. In terms of skill, I have never seen a more skillful chef. That guy plays with the pizza like nothing I've ever witnessed, and the atmosphere he creates when he throws the pizzas around is just unique.

Well what can I say after dining at this restaurant for than 6 years now, I attended one of their Opera Evenings earlier this week, it was absolutley splendid, and pleasent eveing the singing was great the atmosphere was refined and enjoyable, I highly recommend Paggs. The food for the evening was a special Opera menu which was just for that evening, great food, great wine and excellent service.
