I've been here quite a few times, and usually it's brilliant. Good food, great atmosphere and fun staff. However I went on New Year's Eve and they obviously couldn't cope with the numbers. The food wasn't good - noone on our table of 8 enjoyed their main course. And we had a shock when we got the bill - despite it already being £35 a head for the (bland) food, they had hiked up all the drinks prices. So a bottle of Peroni, usually £3.50 was £4.50. And a bottle of Pinot Grigio, usually £18.50 was £23. Being New Years Eve, and a table of 8, this really made quite a difference to the price we were expecting to pay! We chose Paggs for New Year as it is usually good value and fun. It was still fun but at a much heftier price tag, which was very disappointing.
I don't want to put people off of going to Paggs, as all of our other visits have been brilliant. So my ratings below are based on all the other visits, not the New Years visit. I just want to make people aware that on special occasions the prices do go up, and the food quality down, so that they know what to expect.
