My daughter booked a table at Kampung for 5 of us for my birthday. We ordered many dishes from the Sky Menu and they were all excellent. We had quite a few starters and they were all fantastic followed by duck and then main course dishes. We couldn't fault any of the food we had.

I treated my wife to dinner and we chose food from The Sky Menu but unfortunately overall it was disappointing. Some of the food was OK (e.g. the prawns and the vegetables, especially the aubergine) but the rest including the chicken and egg-fried rice were a complete disappointment. We have not tried the main menu though and I do not know whether it is any better. I would not recommend the sky menu. We paid £40 though and I am not sure how much I would have paid for the main menu.

I go to Kampung when ever i have chinese take away or eat in with my family. In fact it's a bit or a regular with our family sunday get togethers. (or at least when we're not having sunday roast.
The service is always exceptional and the waiters/waitresses are always so keen to advise or help out. If you order from the sky menu yes the portions are smaller than if you pay the full price off the a la carte menu- but i was informed that this is because the idea of the sky menu is for the consumer to taste a variety of different dishes, if the portions were too big then the consumer would complain about the inability to finish all of each of the dishes. The Sky menu allows variety with quality and not quantity!
You can probably tell that i am a big fan of this restaurant. It is local to me and considering that there are at least 5 chinese restaurants on that particular bit of green lanes Kampung is by far the best. The others have all changed hands many times but Kampung has stood the test of time. Which only goes to show that a Pleasant atmosphere with great food, and excellent service combined with value will always win x

Went on a Saturday evening. The place was buzzing, really good atmosphere with good food at reasonable prices and excellent service. Good place for couples or large groups. I have no hesitation in recommending it.

I went to Kampung for a late evening bite with a couple of friends. We ordered from the Sky menu, all were pleasantly suprised by the high standard of food (despite the very small portions)
My friends ordered dessert which was reportedly good (although not included in the Sky menu price)
Unfortunately, our evening was ruined by one of our two servers who gave a less than satisfactory service to our table. When we ordered our main meal at 9.45pm we were hurried by the waitress in a less than pleasant manner (she informed us to hurry up as the kitchen is closing NOW!) This was actually not the case! Also, when asked politely if the floral centre peice could be moved so we could see each other over the table we told to "be patient" in a rather agressive manner.
As a result we refused to pay the entire service charge, we were then told repeatedly we could not leave without paying the entire charge. We stood firm and left paying only a portion of the service charge as intended.

I visited Kampung last night with 3 friends, and it was excellent!
The décor is clean and well presented, you get fancy napkins and bottle stand if you choose to drink wine. They have a bar with all the spirits you can imagine, but I didn't notice if they had beer on tap.
We all decided to go for the Sky menu, where you pay just under £15 and order as much as you like from a special menu, which has plenty of options.
We started with some crispy seaweed, spring rolls, prawn &sesame toast, chicken satay , prawn tempura, and squid. The prawn tempura was excellent-so we ordered some more!
We followed the starters with some duck and pancakes which wasn't too dry like at most buffets. For mains we selected a range of dishes with rice, I can especially recommend the Thai green/red curry's, Szechuan prawns, and roast honey pork.
I know that sounds a lot of food but they were all small portions(i.e 1 satay/prawn each) -don't worry you can order bigger portions, we just took the waitresses recommendation to try a little of everything.
The best thing about Kampung is that everything is freshly prepared to your taste, if want extra chillies or less veg in your dish its no problem.
*Bear in mind that there is a £1.50 per 100g wastage charge,-but this is only applied if you consistently order food and waste it!
All in all, Kampung is excellent value for money and perfect for either a date or a group of friends; I will definitely be going back !

My parnter, his friend and I went here the other night, we had the sky buffet (all you can eat for £14.90) not your typical buffet, you were allowed to choose from the main menu. As many times as you'd like which was amazing value for money I thought. They do have a policy that if you send too much back in wastage they'll charge you something like £1.50 but there was no wastage with us!!!
We had lots of starters, all presented on a big platter, which you could have repeated of course... then the crispy duck course and so many mains I forget what we had, the quality of the food was very good also.
Drinks are on top but we were drinking soft drinks.
The restaurant is clean, staff are friendly enough, it looks a bit ropey from outside but once you're in you can't complain! (well we couldn't!)
Had to be rolled out! 10/10.. Would and will def go back.

Myself and my partner went to Kampung last night and had a very enjoyable evening. The staff were efficient and pleasent enough and we were seated promptly. From the outside the restuarant didnt look very appealing although on entering we found it be clean and far larger than we were expecting.
We had a selection of starters including spring rolls, tempura prawns, seaweed and satay chicken. The satay chicken was especially nice and had a lovely smokey barbeque flavour about it. We followed that up with duck and then a few further dishes including prawn thai green curry, chill beef and honey roasted pork with noodles and rice. The honey roasted pork was delicious as were the noodles. The meal ended up costing around £20 a head which included two glasses of wine and one beer (we didnt have desert). All in all a nice experience and tasty food.
