i brought my friends fronm the country to try the red pepper magic i have experienced before. we all had different starters and main courses. everything was superb. so much so that we kept saring dishes . we had sea bream...superbly cooked and so fresh it virually winked at me! rib eye that melted in your mouth and wonderful liguini. wine, service, staff, atmosphere all top quality.

there is a real sense of team work with the staff and management and pride in the food. we will be back soon

I have finally found a place where I eat the way I like and the staff is nice, friendly and efficient!

Try pizza basilico and yogurt pannacotta with berries sauce!

Espresso like in Italy! Great!!!

I've been to the red pepper last night and had an amazing experience!

The restaurant was full with a great atmosphere!

We been set in a nice table by the window and leaded throught the menu in a very professional way.

We tried the special home made ravioli stuffed with potato, mint and pecorino in a well made fresh tomato sauce and the australian rib eye steak cooked to perfection!

We've been very looked after from each member of the stuff from the start to the end of our staying!

Try the tiramisu and the poached pear with mascarpone and amaretto!

The manageress offered the taxi service and we spent all the journey from maida vale to belzise park talking about the wonderful food we had and the staff we had just left there!

Simply perfect!

Thanks very much red pepper, see you definitely next week!!!

I went back to Red Pepper last night having moved from London six months ago. It was like going home. Apart from a pleasant change in the wine list giving options of superb wine by the glass and carafe, the menu was still refreshingly innovative, simple but cooked to perfection. The pizzas remain best in London. I was happy to see the friendly faces of the regular staff that make Red Pepper even more the perfect neighbourhood restaurant. Now if I could beam Red Pepper to Devon with me life would be even more perfect.

I used to visit Red Pepper regularly since it opened.

Sadly it is not the place it used to be and I have given it more than one try after going back after few years.

I remember a sweet manager Gianni and his team of waiters from Sardinia. These were the times where eating in RP was an utter pleasure - great food, superb wine list and exceptional service.

Gianni had time for everyone and even if the restaurant was packed more than twice a night, service was spot on.

Food was coming out of the kitchen on time and everyone had a smile on the face.

These times are long gone and unless they find and bring back the staff from the past, Maida Vale will turn its back on Red Pepper.

Gianni and the team - you are greatly missed!

It's a shame about this place as the pizza here is the best I've eaten in a long time. Very flavorsome and interesting toppings. However, I would never go back again for a few reasons: none of the other food is worth trying, the risotto isn't very good. The staff are rude and service is poor. The tables are too close together even by the rest of London's standards, you get the feeling they are just squeezing too many people into too small a space to make as much money as possible but to the detriment of the customer. We felt really cramped and there were only two other tables in on a Sunday lunch time.

We ordered 3 beers and saw the waitress pour 2 bottles of beer into 3 glasses and then charged for 3! This to me is a real disrespect to paying customers. Just the fact that it even occurred to them to do this . I thought a way to get around this would be to get a takeaway from here, but when we tried that the waiting staff were so rude we ended up walking out and not ordering anything. They have great pizzas so all of this is a real shame. I won't be going back until they sort the service, seating and tightness out!

I hadn't been here for a few years, and after last night I won't be going back. Worst thing: tables so close together you touch elbows with the table next to you. Second worst thing: underseasoned, bland food for rather impressive prices. Third worst thing: amateurish service.

£51 for two, one main course, shared dessert and two small glaases of wine ("we only serve wine in 125 ml") is far too expensive for a meal Pizza Express could have done better.

All the reviews from 2009 are accurate but dont even go near this now. The new manager is the worst person to be in that role.

All the waiters shiver in her presence and she says stuff like: this is the best our fridge will do (while serving white wine). If I took the time to tell everyone that a particular dish will take a long time to prepare , I will not be able to run the place. Go ahead, write your reviews, I dont care. I've been here for 16 years and have not seen you (we have gone there at least 20 times in last 6 years)

Anyways, we ended up with a nice evening at the restaurant across the street.

All tables around us swore never to come back to the place, unless this woman was being hormonal, there is no excuse for her behavior.
