Please save yourselves the hassle of trekking to this out of the way restaurant because it is just not worth it. The food we ordered was completely different to what we received (for example, mozarella wrapped in streaky bacon rather than Parma ham, with passion fruit rather than figs!), and when we questioned this, our queries were met with indifference at best. At the end of our meal, when we complained, the chef was brought out to tell us that we were wrong and that sauteed potatoes were supposed to be creamy and mashed and that we didn't know what we were talking about! It was also DEAD - we were the only people there at 8pm on a Friday night (not a good sign, but given how long it had taken to get there we decided to give it a go), and freezing cold (we had to eat with our coats on). The staff barely understood English, and certainly didn't understand the concept of manners. It was also vastly overpriced, even with the 50% off deal we were on. I would avoid this restaurant AT ALL COSTS.

(PS I have never felt the need to review a restaurant until now but I wanted to make sure other people avoided making the same mistake we did!)

Had been looking forward to the lobster or seafood platter as mentioned on previous reviews. Sadly, they were not on the menu the night we went and had to settle for the gnocchi which was in a very basic tomato sauce.

Although the choice was £30 for 2 courses or £35 for 3, i was told by the waitress that i had to order all 3.

The people in our group who ordered the beef were not asked how they wanted it cooked, giving us reason to assume it was just being heated up in the microwave. it was very well done. The portions were tiny, very contrary to previous reviews. The service was extremely shoddy and the place was freezing cold.

In short, a place to definitely avoid. It simply has no redeeming features.

I had the misfortune to go to Copyright as part of a large group for a celebration meal. Things got off to a bad start when the only menu on offer was a prix fixe (£30 for two courses or £35 for three) had four choices of main course and three desserts and starters - very limited. Ordering the food itself was a nightmare in itself. One of our party ordered beef but was not asked how he wanted it cooked. He asked for it rare - this was met with a blank stare by the waitress. He then asked how the beef was cooked, and she shrugged her shoulders, muttered 'I don't know' and wandered off. When the food eventually arrived most of it was cold (the beef, incidentally, was incinerated). The 'mango' which accompanied the incredibly fatty duck was like lumps of acidic rubber, and the gnocchi (the only veg option on the menu) was worse than anything any idiot could knock up in their own kitchen with a can of Dolmio. To round off the meal, as we were finishing our drinks after dessert the table was physically removed from infront of us by a waiter who wanted to clear some space for dancing. Overall, the service was beyond appalling. Apart from the aforementioned beef incident and the table removal, most people were brought the wrong meal, and no drinks were served at the table (we had to go to the bar ourselves). When paying I refused to pay the service charge and was given a grilling by a surly waiter who told me it was compulsory. Oh, and the place was so cold many of us ate with our coats on. All of this for the princely sum of £30/£35 a head - prices similar to those at top London restaurants like Chez Bruce which have food, service and wine to warrant the extravagance. Copyright most certainly does not, and I would implore anyone considering eating there to go elsewhere.

while strolling around East London one balmy summer night, my boyfriend and I stumbled across Copyright Restaurant and Nightclub. Situated in St. Katherines Dock, we were surprised to find such a gem of a restaurant hidden in the back roads.

Both the service and the food was excellent, especially the seafood platter. We ended up staying there for the nightclub and we couldn't keep ourselves off the funky vibrating dance floor. Highly recommended.

We went to this restaurant one evening feeling overly hungry.

The service was poor from the start because:

1) it was difficult to get the waiters attention and when he did arrive he was unsaure as to what the dishes consisted off.

2)The food was bland and warm when it arrived.

3)Not once did any of the waiter smiled

4) The atmosphere was bland

Anyway we did complain to see the manager, but the waiter claimed to be the manager and did not seem bothered.

We ended up paying for the meal and then went next door to Pizza Express to fill up our belly ;-)

Overall - Great location shame about the staff and food.

Would not recommend this over priced, under quality restaurant/bar.
