We went there with friends last Saturday, it's a really good place to go, good food, good staff, good prices, I easily recommend it!

If you don't want to be disappointed with an Indian...GO THERE!!

I took some Korean clients to the Maharani last night and it was excellent. Probably the best Indian food I have eaten outside of the middle east and India. 10/10 doesn't do this place justice for quality of food and service! Great restaurant.

I had my best Indian meal ever had at the Maharani. From the splendid chutney and wafers hors d'oeuvres to richly flavored meat dishes we shared, it was a gustatory wonder. I've eat middling Indian food often from the grocery store, and have dined in several sit down restaurants, and this meal compared to the others was like realizing you could watch television in color. Judging by the expressions of the other guests, the satisfaction was not isolated to our table. The prices were reasonable (80% of the items were between 10-15 pounds), the menu extensive, and a representation of items from across the flavor spectra that left this guest wishing he knew more about Indian culinary terms. Not to worry though, the staff was helpful and attentive, and took pride in excellent service (heated plates, hot napkins after dinner), a welcomed complement to the great meal.

I have eaten here many times, both the lunch menu, which is amazing value for money, and in the evening. It is the second best Indian restaurant I have ever been to, and I have been to India about 8 times. The place is immaculate and the service is second to none, with no attempt to stiff you with an 'optional' service charge.

My top recommendation for a Soho curry house.

I booked for a project team from work for an evening celebration meal and we were very impressed with the subtle flavours and great service.

Many thanks to all the staff for a great evening.

I disagree with this comment. Maharani gave me the finest Indian I have ever had in my whole Indian dinning experience.

The food rating refers to the chutneys that came with the popadums, the only redeeming feature of the meal besides the Cobra beer which was reasonably priced. The lamb chops were horrible. The various meat dishes we had seemed to contain the same generic sauce regardless of the description on the menu. How this place stays in business at these prices, £12-£13 for the mains, I don't know, other than unfortunate souls like myself who come in to give it a try and swear never again. There are much better and cheaper indian (this place is Bangledeshi) restaurants in the area

Whenever Im on the west side of london - maharani is the venue of choice...from the subtle home made sauces - (beetroot sauce with papodams) - to the well cooked lamb chops. All the currys are well flavoured and service is impeccable. Now becoming a regular for my oversea clients - well recommended.
