A warm welcome from the kind and friendly staff.

An adventurous menu with options for every type of diet, and explanations of dishes given on request.

New flavour and spice combinations previously unexperienced.

Generous portions of tasty food..

The theatre of the large sharing platters and the utterly fantastic coffee.

A bill that came to a tenner each after stuffing us to completely full!

Unless you are unfailingly miserable or cannot eat without being somewhere fake and pretentious, you have no choice but to fall in love with this place a little.

Tamarind and Thyme

Tamarind and Thyme

Tuesday, March 01, 2011 - Everything's sitting on a base of injera, that fermented, spongy, steamed flat bread, which does a fine job of soaking up all the delicious sauces. In the middle, there's some doro wat, that most famous of Ethiopian dishes - a spicy stew of chicken and boiled eggs...Blai's Bamia Billahmi was okra with lamb cubes cooked with tomato, coriander and garlic and was served with rice, though injera was also offered. Everything had been stewed to tenderness and was supremely comforting...Like Bonda Cafe, this is a simple place serving good food - definitely recommended.

@foodepedia Pretty bright and sticky over here but not as wet as we thought. Enjoy the heatwave!
