your comments review this restaurant and win a bottle of champagne

The four of us went on Friday 2nd Sep 2006. We were very dissapointed with the level of service and told the manager that we would not leave 12.5% tip.He was most rude, did not apologise or even ask what made us unhappy. The brasserie staff were very inexperience and even added a bottle of wine to bill without approaching us first. We will not be rushing back to eat but as for drinks we did enjoy the venue. We cant wait for the smoking ban to come into effect. Sorry Sir Terence.

If you really want to go to Plateau, try to wait until the lunch is going to be 'expensed'! Even then you will probably feel a sense of guilt when the bill arrives. Minuscule portions abound with unbelievably high price tags, which make the heart flutter! Additionally, abrupt service and sterile surroundings should make this a 'stay away' restaurant.

I was surprised to read previous reviews as, on the evening four of us ate at the brasserie, the staff were professional, courteous and very attentive without being obtrusive. We were all impressed with the food - although the dishes on offer were simple, each of the dishes we ordered was well cooked and tasty. I ordered duck, which came with a wonderful crisp skin, a tart caramalised plum and dressed salad leaves. Each of the flavours complimented each other perfectly. The only negative comment I would make is that the bearnaise sauce accompanying one of the dishes was overcooked. However, staff were immediately on hand to replace this.

A touch overpriced, but all things considered, I would happily return - possibly to try the restaurant next time.

You have just bought a tailor made suit from Siverde, put on your shoes from Church’s, wound up your priceless Rolex and had had the butler polish the Bently. Now would be a good time to eat here. Never have I tasted such bland food at such ridiculous and ludicrous prices. Tiny portions, limited wine list, cold food and arrogant staff. I had the Balsamic Steak with rocket which was ok, I did ask for it to be well done (which most upper class restaurants don’t like) but this was still bloody in the middle. The dessert was the best part. Chocolate Torte with white chocolate sauce. Not bad for £9.00!

Bill for two was £187.23. To be honest I grabbed a packet of 6 nuggets from the Maccy D’s on the roundabout, which filled the gap nicely! Unless you have cash to throw away, Avoid!

Just another Conran restaurant...nice decor/setting, etc...Very bland menu and the food/service was ok. Oh, and a bit expensive for what you get....

Not planning to go back in a hurry...

Have eaten in the brasserie section 3 times. Never again. Cold and uncomfortable. I always order vegetable sides as they aren't included with the main dishes but they are very poor and the last time they didn't even turn up. The small menu offered hasn't changed in the 3 times I have been. A shame over all because I have yet to find a decent restaurant in the whole Canary Wharf complex and so-called 24 hr drinking seems to have passed this dreary area by.

The food was so good! The table of 6 all got the taster menu. I have to point out that it is a good idea to each before you go, or you will be later on. The portions are so small it is humorous at points during the courses. It was five courses which the desert was the biggest dish we got, and I might add was great! All in all the food was really good but such little portions.

Service was really relaxed at some points, a little too relaxed. It was nice not to be rushed etc. The in house wine consultant is top notch! He knows his stock and his wines.

Atmosphere was sometimes unbearable with tables of traders thinking they own the place. Several traders felt it was much more polite to walk away from their table and light and smoke there cigars on top of us instead of their own table. Thinking they were at the bar, one trader started leaning on the back of one of our chairs. We had to ask him to move his hands, he made a big deal. At this point we asked the waiter to get rid of them now, which they finally did which was a relief.

No value at all for you money. This is much overpriced for such small portions.

I suggest go for the experience but I personally will not be heading back there any time soon. Been there done it…

Very noisy. Lots of smokers around, so very smokey. Expensive. Small portions. Good food. Efficient (rather than friendly) service. The views not so great being only on the 4th floor (above Waitrose).

Wouldn't go back in a hurry.

I have been several times for business lunches / dinners and this place has never failed to dissapoint.

The room - it cannot be disputed - is spectacular, as is the view.

The first couple of times I went I was in the Bar/Grill area, and the food was bland and tasteless, totally uninspiring. The fish (cod, which many of us had) has actually become a running joke in the office. It wouldn't be so offensive if it was cheap, but the restaurant is the "nicest" in Canary Wharf and is priced as such (evidenced by the corporate types who are always there , me being one of them).

I finally had a dinner in the dining room and again, menu looked so-so, the food was expensive and OK. I had a sole meuniere which was good, but it's hard to mess up a basic grilled fish, and it cost a whopping £24 - sans legumes which had to be purchased.

Wine list is good and the martinis were dry so no complaints there but if I am spending my own money you are better off eating in the back of the Nicolas shop, they have a basic rustic french menu and will sell you the wine out of the shop at shop prices.
