Brilliant! I went to Taman Gang last night for my boyfriend's birthday and it was absolutely fantastic! The service was exceptional and the waiter was very knowledgable. The food was amazing as well! We had a great night. Highly recomended for a romantic evening.

Went here last night and I cannot say that I am impressed. I think this place is fantastically decorated, with a great atmosphere and drinks selection, but the food is somewhat of a let down. The place is very expensive, but that's not a surprise considering the location and style of the place, certainly upmarket. The service was very good, nothing negative to say about it.

At Taman Gang they really try to make this place work, but the choice of dishes are simply all over the place and nothing that makes you say wow! This is not to say that the food was bad, I just think that such a place would be more successful if it simply stuck to certain regions of cooking instead of mixing Thai food along with Japanese sushi. To put it bluntly, this place is a cool place catered to 'Asia for beginers' at the higher end of the market.

For Asian food at the high end I would prefer to eat at Hakkasan (Chinese fusion) or Nahm (Thai fusion). An for those of you more interested in a middle of the range Thai themed Asian restaurant I would recommend Busaba Eathai, even though you feel a bit rushed it is certainly worth while for a quick inexpensive bite and certainly value for money.

Having worked near Marble Arch for many years why have I never been here before? What a find!

Chilled, friendly, stylish, non-pretentious ambience. Superb original cocktails, and very very good food indeed. Having only wandered in for a drink I ended up paying £74 so it isn't cheap but as an uber cool, relaxed place to meet friends or just hang out this is as good as I've been to in London or almost anywhere.

Highly reccommended.

My girlfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our NYE dinner at Taman Gang. The amazing food and atmosphere made for a night to remember. The “Black Cod with miso and mirin glaze” was the standout dish, which we will definitely be returning for soon. After a great meal we enjoyed cocktails in the lounge with dessert. All in all, a seamless experience.

My girlfriend and I were recommended this restaurant while staying at a nearby hotel. On the outside it seems a little intimidating, but once you get inside you settle into the ambient, beautiful and very trendy surrounds. The food was exceptional - we had the pepper beef, the meat was "melt in your mouth" texture. The food prices are justifiably high, however the wine menu is limited and expensive. Nevertheless, we highly recommend this restaurant and will most certainly be back. 9.5/10

I don't know what happened to poor RB, but I have always had a lovely experience at Taman Gang. Great service, people and the food has been divine. The highlights are the bar (the indonesian temple blocks with bottles of Champagne are true highlights...), the yellow tail with the jalapeno, the tuna tartar, the miso black cod, the crispy pi-pa duck and the lobster with noodles. My only complaint is that the menu NEVER changes. While I like what I like, some variation would be nice. I should also explore some of the other dishes! But for me its one of the more romantic places - GREAT for a first date - meet the person at the bar with a bottle of champagne and then retire to one of the uber comfy seats and have a great meal before moving back to the bar.

An excellent first class restaurant. I have frequented there many times and i have always enjoyed myself. The food, the service and the atmostphere are the best i have ever experienced. Try a Ballini. They are very tasty and the B52's are great too.

I ate there one evening in April 2006. I found the atmosphere to be a nice mixture between trendy and fun. i found the food however to be revolting and had to send a lot of it of it back why is very rare for me - I tend to eat everything normally in restaurants and like 99% of what I eat and 99.9% of Asian fusion food but this was really poor - way overcooked rice, green beans swimming in fat, a really fatty and non cripsy duck etc etc. What a shame - I definately would never go back.

I really like Taman Gang. Service and quality are always top notch and more than worth the price.

The bar is amazing with the indonesian temple blocks acting as Champagne holders and the list of cocktails could not be more impressive.

As far as the food goes I almost always have the same thing - for starters - the tuna tartar, the soft shell crab and the yellowtail. And for main courses - the miso cod and the spring onion lobster. The Crispy pi-pa duck is also pretty amazing.

Very romantic place if you can get a quieter table and a great place for a more hopping experience if you get a more central table. Highly recommended.
