Now open on Fulham Palace Road, Bloom is a relaxed neighbourhood cafe, bar and kitchen. The menu includes dishes like crab linguine; lamb tagine; and seared red mullet with lemon, fennel and saffron mayo. Locals can drop in for breakfast, cocktails and afternoon tea, as well as making use of the al fresco terrace and children's play area.

I was very excited about the opening of this place, more for the bar aspect than the restaurant as we live so close. You definitely feel like it is a new place when you are there, somehow the identity isn't quite established but I'm sure that will come.

The service we received was mixed (having been about 3-4 times now). But I agree with the previous review about the laid back appearance of staff.

One personal complaint is that they do not let dogs inside (even if you sit at the bar stools up at the window). This would easily sway me towards another restaurant in the area where they ALL allow dogs.

Willing to continue going, most likely for a quick brunch rather than supper which is nothing special.

Was initially attracted to this newly-opened restaurant by a bright, open-planned decor. Upon perusal, the fairly limited lunch menu was nonetheless appealing with a variety of options for all tastes. I ordered eggs benedict and my partner corn fritters. Unfortunately the food itself did not match up to the menu's glowing descriptions. Poached eggs were underdone and cold and the hollandaise would more aptly be described as barbecue sauce. The corn fritter dish was poorly presented and insubstantial.

Although the staff were attentive and helpful, I only wish I could speak as positively about their appearance. I'm no snob, but the sight of a matted pony-tail, blue hair and scruffy trainers did not heighten the dining experience.

A more competent chef and bathed staff might convince me to give Bloom another go.
