Tuesday, August 23, 2011 - His lemon sole, recommended by a colleague of mine, was alright but a bit too fishy, if you know what I mean, while my risotto with lobster and king prawns and parmesan was so downright delicious, the rice so al dente and the seafood so meaty, that I asked to take it home in a 'doggy bag' and enjoyed it for lunch the next day. Heritage tomato salad with onions was also burstingly fresh, the quality of the tomatoes very high...Certainly I'm willing to return to Chiswell Street for a slap-up dinner again soon.

Saturday, August 06, 2011 - Visiting the bathroom, I got a bit lost and found myself in the back corridors of the Montcalm Hotel. Suddenly, everything was plush, carpeted, hushed and corporate. It occurred to me that the food at Chiswell Street was like that, too. It's perfectly OK as a fuelling stop for City folk, to break up their knackering day at the financial coalface, but the food isn't cooked with much interest or passion. Like the Grub Street hackers of old, there's a faint suggestion that they're just going through the motions.

Came to Chiswell Street for our work christmas dinner, the food and service was fantastic! We had a booking in the Grubb Street room and it was set out very nice.

Everyone wants to come back next Christmas!

Thanks to all the staff for the help and thanks to Gemma for organising our dinner.

A group of our executives recently had Christmas lunch in one of the private dining rooms. The occasion was thoroughly enjoyed by all and feedback included comments such as "brilliant venue, super food". The consensus was that we would definitely book again for either an internal company event or for the entertaining of clients.

I booked a very last minute meal for ten senior delegates from work at the Chiswell Street Dining Rooms. They managed not only to accomodate my large party, but also accomodate my menu requests, even though its Christmas period, this was amazing. The feedback was that food, service and atmosphere were fantastic, and much appreciated by all. Thanks so much, and will definitely book again.

I have organised at Chiswell Street Dining Rooms, a three-course formal dinner as part of a corporate workshop including various multinationals and global brands representatives in December 2012.

The event manager has been very efficient during the organisation, providing me various details.

We have been able to work on the menus to suit our guests' requirements. Service has been very efficient. Tasty food. Nice atmosphere and great decor (Drinks reception and dinner has been hosted in the Samuel Room).

Our guests have spent a fabulous evening.

I would definitely the Chiswell Street Dining Rooms for any type of corporate dinner or business meetings.

Held a client function here for Christmas. Very well organised, excellent service and a lovely ambience. The "feast menu" went down wonderfully with our guests. Would thoroughly recommend.

We booked the Chiswell Street Dining Rooms for our annual dinner in October 2012. There were over 100 of us - mostly lawyers working in legal aid. The venue lay-out was much nicer than an ordinary room - it felt more intimate than a large room. Food was delicious and the staff could not have been more helpful.

The organisation of the event was great and we had really positive feedback from our guests.

My daughter held her wedding reception at Chiswell Street Dining room this weekend and it was a truly amazing wow experience. Gemma and her team worked with her and her brief to create a stunning venue. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was perfection, and as she is a chef, was critical to the success of the party. We managed to transform the rooms from conference to chic reception/dance rooms with amazing flowers from local florist Wild About Flowers and creative drapes and fairy lights.

I cannot reccommend Chiswell Street for a perfect London wedding.

I arranged a private room at the Chiswell Street Dining Rooms for 13.The food was excellent but the service was outstanding (save for a longish wait for mains) The staff were charming and efficient.

The venue provided a staffed small bar in the room which gave a "luxe" feel at no additional cost and meant no awkward delays for drinks.

I would certainly use this venue again

CSDR was a great venue for our meeting. The menu was enjoyable and the Grub Street room a discreet and luxurious space for our group. Great staff and all round good choice for an event.

I organised a very late minute 30th Birthday Dinner for 30 guests in the Samuel Room recently. It was a huge success! We were thrilled with the event. We were offered a personalised menus and beautiful table spread all at the very very last minute. The room looked incredibly smart and really made our party feel glamourous. The wines were excellent & amongst some favourites with our guests was a monkfish main course & an almond sponge for pudding. We are a loud and festive bunch & the staff were very friendly throught our celebrative meal. We will definately be back - thanks again to all who helped us have a fantastic night!

A personal favourite of mine was a potted trout starter!
