Never again! Couldn't even get served.
It used to be good when it was opened but there are so many better places around here now I would give this one a miss!

We went back to The Greyhound last night, and after reading the reviews on this site, I was not looking forward to the service other diners seem to have received.
Admittedly, service in the past has not been brilliant, though I'm happy to report that the two guys serving us last night were great - very friendly and helpful (over-fussy waiting staff annoy me personally, but I agree service has to be of a certain standard).
The food was very good but then I think it always has been on the 4+ occasions I've eaten there. The steaks were cooked perfectly last night, and I do remember a particularly good tuna carpaccio shortly after they opened (we have had to send back a couple of bottles of wine over the years. I guess this can happen anywhere?).
Will go back.

Found the staff very rude as they seemed more interested in chatting to their friends. This place has gone downhill, it used to be quite a decent gastropub with a good manager.
I won't be wasting either my money or time in going back here.

The staff are so rude and into themselves, we didn't even bother to stay and sample what looked like an adequate menu.

First impressions of this Gastro was that it was rather dark and dingy with a clientele to match.
As for the food, it was all presentation and no taste. For starters I had the Scallops & Risotto, the Risotto being far too over spiced with Dill, to the extent that you couldn't taste the scallops. For main I had the Roast Monk Fish on a bed of potatoes/vegetables. Again the vegetables were over spiced with Dill and the monk fish rather tough. For dessert I had the Almond & Chocolate cake which was overly rich with chocolate.
On the positive side I found the waiters helpful and attentive.

Lousy service unless you are a regular or one of the friends of the barstaff it seems,I have to agree with the reviews below, average food and poor value for money which is a shame as it was great when it first opened.

I completely disagree with the above of bad reviews.
I can certainly admit that about 12 months ago, it was pretty overpriced and not good food. But in the last 7 - 8 months, I cant help but keep going back.
The food is delicious, the clientel good. who cares if the staff are more interested in speaking to their friends, than serving some pompus git who wants a quiet sunday roast. This is London we live in! And its bloody nice to see people getting along. (I wouldn't want to serve you either...)
Yes we want good food, a good atmosphere and somewhere to relax and chat on a Sunday. Here is the exact place to do it.
If you want a quiet pub, go out in your 4 x 4 in the country and find a wonderful pub there. But the fact is London is a town with young people that actually make the city thrive and a better place.

this is the second time i've been to the Greyhound and, i'm afraid to say, the second time i've been disapointed. The food was certainly good, especially the starters although the service was terrible. From when we first got there they had no record of our booking, they took ages to even bring us a menu, got our orders wrong and added things to the bill that we hadn't ordered. They were friendly enough although still had the cheek to add a service charge to the bill after cocking up so many times.
There are a lot of gastro pubs that get it right...this one does not.

I am not sure if the reviewers below are talking about the same place! I used to go in there alot but then things seemed to slide so I gave it a miss for a while. However I decided to give it another go hoping that things might have improved..How wrong. The "buzzy atmosphere" seems to mainly comprise of a loud bunch of twenty somethings trying to continue their party from the night before which would be ok if it wasn't for the fact that it is supposed to be a relaxing gastro type pub not an after club hangout ( or is it?) The management are inefficient and quite frankly rude and from what I can see have alienated the old clientel by allowing the place to become a post club venue. The food however is fine but to be honest I think you could get the same quality in better surroundings. There are several places in the area that do it alot better and I will be going to one of them in the future.
