Went to Chennai Dosa Manor Park, and it was a nightmare of an experience there. We took the breakfast buffet. The sambhar wich was kept in the bain marie was as cold as it has just come out of the fridge. We told the waiter, and he replaced the sambhar which was also as cold ! Only the sambhar which arrived with the dosa was eatable.
Then we told the waiter again, and finally he went inside the kitchen and got us hot sambhar.
Chennai Dosa food is cheap, but as regarding their quality, there is always a question mark on that point....

We go to Chennai Dosa (the vegetarian section in Wembley) on a regular basis. Initially when it opened the service was good and even the food was cheap and good. Nowaways, in our recent visits, we have always found the service to be appalling.
On one occasion, the waiter took our order and then we were waiting for our food to arrive (which was 2 dosas for 2 people ) and a portion of dahi vada. The customers who arrived and placed their orders after us were served long before us, and then we had to call the waiter and ask as to what happened to our food. He said it will arrive soon, and then we realised that he immediately took out a piece of paper from his pocket, entered the order in his computer and the gave a frightened look at us - he had forgotten to give our order in the kitchen and hence the delay.
Inspite of all this, he still forgot to bring the dahi vada and we then called another waitress and she tried to "improve the service" !
On another visit after that, which was on Sunday 9th March, we ordered 1 portion paratha, 2 portions of curry and we wanted to order rice,. So we asked the waiter the difference between fried rice and boiled rice - as on the menu, he said that both of then contained peas, masala, etc. The waiter looked at us as if we had not eaten Indian food before and replied rudely "fried rice is fried rice, and boiled rice is boiled rice". So we just said ok, and ordered 1 portion of fried rice. When the food arrived, the kofta was just 1 piece priced at £2.99, the roti was fine and the 2nd curry was also fine. The fried rice looked and tasted like Chinese Fried Rice, and we just could not eat it with the wrong combination - that is with the Indian Curry.
What we are wondering is that if the waiter had explained to us properly that the rice is Chinese and will not go with Indian curry, then surely we would have ordered any other rice, or they should write clearly in the menu that it is Chinese Fried rice and not Indian rice. Surely no one who knows anout Indian food and are Indians themselves would be foolish enough to order Chinese rice to eat with Indian curry - and this happened with inadequate explanation and care for the customer.
The waiter is one of the senior waiters who manages the place in the absence of the lady manageress. So I am extremely shocked at the horrible service which we are getting nowadays at Chennai Dosa.
Nobody seems to care about customer satisfaction, they just want to be there for their own interest.
Also, the buffet which was supposed to be laid out for 12 noon, wasn't laid out at even 12.15 pm, and the waiter said that it will take a good 40 minutes for the lunch buffet to get ready - all these things are happeneing when the manageress is not around. When she is there, then perhaps one can expect a bit of good service at Chennai Dosa, but when she is not there - customers beware of the horrible experience which you all are guaranteed to receive !

I think Chennai Dosai is one of the best south indian cafe's I've been to outside South India. I've been many times and if I didn't feel like cooking at home we'd eat there or get take-away. We've never been disappointed. Aravind, you were obviously extremely unlucky. I've been to some exclusive indian restaurants and for the price you pay - the food never quite hits the spot.

Hi this is the one of worst indian restaurant i ever seen in my life, especially when we order for take away, once we ordered veg biryani for take away and when i went home i stunned to see the food not in eatable condition, they put all the left over food(over fried bottom food) and also the quantity is very less. in addition to that they didn't even given the curry, when i called them regarding this the response was very bad. it happened late night sunday it was really hopless and its very sad to see such a bad indian restaurent in uk.
