"Nice bar, terrible restaurant"

All was very nice until the food arrived. Under-cooked, cold fish. Returned it & was told "fresh meal" was being prepared. Same bit of fish was returned (complete with my fork marks) but MUCH spicier this time. Couldn't be bothered to return it again as I was only one left eating at my table. Bill turned up with "optional" service charge...which we opted out of. Waitress then came back & said we'd underpaid by £9. This turned out to be the "optional" service charge! 5 out of 6 of our meals were poor value for money. Apparently Chiquito's is "the UK's favourite Mexican restaurant". How??

What can I say: Pre booked table for 9.00

Arrived @ 9.00. Waiter arrived @ 9.20. Drinks arrived @ 9.40. No cutlery on tables, Very sticky

Starters arrived @ 9.50 2 x Chicken dishes over cooked

Main arrived @ 10.20 after asking twice two members of staff. Then 2 Chilli dishes turned up luke warm

After asking the staff about the meals the look on one of the waitress face was appalling.

10.45 Still waiting for the sweets to arrive. Staff were clearing up and going home & bottling up the bar

11.00 Bill arrived with 10% service charge.

Basically BAD all round.

Reservation system is a joke. I reserved online 3 weeks in advance and was told on arrival that they were a bit busy so I would have to wait for a table. I was then given a table hastily put together in the bar area not the restaurant. Very poor service. The food was mediocre and the whole experience very poor value for money.

I don't understand people here who say that the food at Chiquito was "great" or "good", it was mediocre to say the least, very poor value for money, cocktails are packed with ice and not tasty at all. We paid ca. £ 50 plus £ 5 tip for dinner for two - the same amount we usually pay when eating out at up-market restaurants with "50% off food" offers. The waitress was friendly though. Avoid this place if you can, it's not worth it.

My wife and I wanted to go to nandos but we didn't have much money. We decided to go to Chiquito as it was lunchtime in the week and there were signs saying that two courses were £8.99. The food was poor and the portions were small but I thought it wasn't too bad as it was only £8.99 each. We ordered two drinks, one small and one large but they were both served in pint glasses, so I regretted paying that bit extra for the large. When the bill arrived I was horrified to discover that it was £40, double the amount I was lead to believe it would cost and £15 more than what nandos would have been. I left feeling hungry and now my bank account is now overdrawn. Don't fall for the lunch menu con if you are low on funds.

i eat here nearly everytime i get the chance for a cheap meal, love the food, love the cocktails, the toilets / restrooms have never been great, the cubicles always way too cramped but on the last visit were absolutely beyond belief, no soap, no hand dryers working. This branch needs some TLC fast as the cracks are appearing I wonder if the management has changed? The service from waiting staff was good and the food as great as usual. But if you dont care about the washrooms and clean hands that sends out a message. This company should remember that people have a choice of where to eat.

It was my birthday on Saturday so I took my family to eat at Chiquitos Leicester Square thought it would be a nice change. OH my GOD!!!!!! We had the worst meal I have ever had. The worst service I have ever experienced and the most disgusting toilets I have ever had to use!!! SERVICE - we were told to find our table, when we did it was not laid, we requested balloons...no balloons...

FOOD - cold corn, uncooked fries, burnt chicken and my parents ordered cod and chips.....the cod looked like 2 fish fingers!!! The nachos were burnt, there was no flavour to the salsa dip etc etc etc. I could go on....

TOILETS- hand dryers not working, no toilet paper or soap, bin overflowing with toilet paper and wet toilet paper on floor and around sinks!!! I have experienced toilets like this at the end of an evening in a night club when very drunk... not in a restaurant in Leicester Square!!!! When we complained to the manager he said if we did not like it we could leave and go somewhere else!!! What on a saturday night in London..we had pre-booked our table!!!!! We ordered more food thought we would stick to the Fajitas being a Mexican resturant.... these were NOT good!!! NEVER GO THERE. I think they should be investigated and closed down!!!!!! I am so disgusted and disappointed. If you are planning to go... GOOD LUCK

Chiquito is the WORST experience I've ever had in a restaurant in my entire life! Was there with a group of 6 today for lunch on a Thursday. It was not busy at all but we did not leave until 90 minutes later. I had to complain to the manager about the poor service, and then she let them deliver awful food that clearly had been sitting for a long time. This place really sucks. WORST ever - avoid!!
