My daughter & I came to this place on 25/06/08. We waited 20 minutes for a table (Table 3) - and waited another 20 minutes for the waiter to take our order - Although everyone around us seemed to be getting their food, and although I repeatedly asked the waiter to check on our order. We were totally ignored - told that there were no soft drinks today, so my daughter had to drink water.
We left after waiting well over an hour in a noisy, drafty atmosphere without having been served any food! It is the restaurant I have ever visited and would never recommend it to anyone ever! I tried to complain but again was totally ignored by the desk staff.

Now, I was there in 2005 with a whole bunch of friends. And we are going back to London in September. I Hope Chiquito will be back in shape by then, because we realy loved it. The atmosphere, smells, food, service the whole package was a solid 9,5 back then.
After reading these reviews, I will consider going back, and I will make a checkround, bafore ordering anything. Love the honest people who write their oppinions here, it helps us Tourists, to make a London trip, money well spent.
Thanks again,
Love ya London : )

Not a lot on offer if you dont feel like eating any meat. The only thing I felt like eating on the menu was 'unavailable' which was ridiculous because it was a cheese omlette...how can a resturant not be able to make something so simple.
The service was OK, but you were interrupted when you DIDNT need anything and there were no staff when you DID need something. The waitress me and my friend got was very odd and gave off a bad vibe. The food itself was average, the chips however were cold and hard and tasted like someone had made them 20 minutes ago and left them out.
With lame service and lame food the atmosphere was also lame , the music became extreamly irritating after a while too.
Not value for money
Would not bother eating there again.

I always had fond memories of Chiquitos from eating there years ago, but sadly the quality has seriously declined since then. The service is still... reasonable... but the quality of the food leaves something to be desired. Salad ingredients seemed a little less than fresh, and the whole meal was just bland. On the positive side, they cater to kids, providing the obligatory kids pack with colouring pencils and so on, but then again, the kids meal was rather below average as well. You don't expect much with a kids meal generally, and they certainly delivered "not much" (this is not to say the quantity was lacking, again just the quality)
Disappointingly, the atmosphere I remember is gone, and the decor now looks worn and tired. Chiquitos is well due for a refresh. New decor, new menus, etc.
Considering the variety of flavours on offer in Mexico, they wouldn't be lacking in options.

Wow, thanks for the brutally honest reviews. I stepped in here last week and sensed that standards had gone down so had a watered down margarita and ran for the hills.
Years ago this Mexican in the heart of Leicester Square was fantastic. My friends and I always ended up here for a quick meal before or after the cinema. However, we all commented that it was only a matter of time before the place gets too big for its boots and starts going down in standards and needless to say it has happened.
Back in the day the chimicanga del mar (seafood wrap) was outstanding and if you dared to order the fajitas, you could never finish it.
Sadly this place has become a victim of its own success, slap bang in the heart of Leicester Sq means that regardless they will ALWAYS make money, if nothing else the poor unsuspecting tourists will be ripped off.

Went to Chiquito's last night with a group of friends. We started off with drinks in the bar before heading upstairs for dinner. Down to some bizarre policy, we were only allowed to get cocktails at Happy Hour prices from the downstairs bar, despite there being a bar upstairs. So we had to go downstairs and back up again a number of times for our drinks.
The food was medicore. I had the BBQ combo, the ribs and chicken were drowned in the overly salty BBQ sauce.
Our bill came to £96 for 6 people, not including drinks. They added a 10% service charge to our bill, which we were not happy paying, due to the fact that we had to get our own drinks and the service wasn't great. We rounded the bill up to £100, only for the waiter to come back and say we hadn't paid the whole bill and that he would have to substitute the rest of the service charge out of his own pocket.
We informed him that the service charge was optional and didn't have to pay it if we didn't want to. The manager was called out, who was friendly and said that it wasn't a problem if we didn't want to pay the whole service charge. I asked if the waiter had to pay the rest, to which she informed me this wouldn't be the case. All in all, a good place for a drink with friends in the bar because of the lively atmosphere, but wouldn't recommend the restaurant.

Excellent food and service
We arrived on the hoof so were quite happy to be told to wait in the bar. We were given a pager to alert us when the ten minute wait was up. The music was not to loud and very large TV's were turned onto the football so we were quite happy. What looked like an excellent selection of drinks were behind the bar. We suped on Corona beer with a lime in it as we waited. After 45 minutes we were called to our table which was rather longer than we expected but within are time limites.
We served straightaway at are table. We ordered Nachos which were excellent. Potato skins with cheese in them which were ok but without the bacon we ordered. Sizzling fajita arrved soon after we had finished our starters and were excellent if a bit short of meat.
We had pecan pie for desert which was also very good all washed down with another Corona beer. The damage can in at £68 so happy with the service we left £80 so the waiter and girl clearing up were well looked after.
Well recommened by us is Chiquito this restrauant will put a smile on your face.

We went in there last week to celebrate a christmas party.Having been helped massively by the gentelman in charge of the christmas parties we did not expect nothing short of a great night out.We were not disapointed. Our table decorated nicely was ready for us even though we were early. Our preordered meals came out in time.On top of everything they had live musicians that helped create a great atmosphere.Needless to say we are thinking of booking already fo next year.

Hi Everyone. Chiquito Leicester square is one of my favourite places in the whole world! I love the atmosphere, the people and the food is excellent! Have you ever tried Acapulco Chicken Fajita before? If not then you better try it in Chiquito's as this is gonna be the best you've ever had! By the way the managers are really charming and so as the waiters (apologies for a girly point of view :). I can highly recommend it to anyone who would like to have a fantastic night out with friends or without. You gonna have FUNNN!!! Cheers! Gillian
