I took my wife, our sons and their friends to SB for dinner, that was three weeks ago, it was fantastic, the food was tasty, authentic italian cuisine, the service was excellent. The owner Claudio is a true gentleman, very friendly lovely guy, his staff were very good. Thanks for everything guys. We are back in Canada now but our sons still live in London and will most likely visit SB again. Our rating is: 10/10

Went here for dinner. Food was okay but the Indian waiter that served us speaks good English and was funny. I like how he apologized about not being able to squeeze through the chairs to grate some cheese on my pasta and suggested that he lose some weight.

Went there on a Sunday lunchtime - primetime for Market shoppers. Queues out of doors at every chain led us here and the food was exceptional. Both had Calzone pizzas - obviously handmade to our request and stuffed with ingredients. Good atmosphere and service although the 12.5% discretionary service charge was a little presumptious...fortunately it was well earned.

We visited Sweet Basil for a colleagues work dinner

the staff were welcoming and efficient, although the restaurant was not busy this is not unexpected at 6pm on a Monday night and meant that we could converse easily.

The menu is varied but not overflowing with options and the specials were clearly available. The wine was good and the service sharp but unintrusive

Food was ordered and delivered promptly and politely, with the correct staggering of starters/mains. Everyone enjoyed their food and with a group of 15 people a wide variety of dishes were ordered, the grilled calamari starter was excellent.

Whilst not exceptional or cheap this is a good standard restaurant and is vastly superior to the plethora of chain offerings in Spitalfields market and there are cheaper options are available on the menu, pizzas for example. Feedback from my colleagues has been unaminously positive and we are likely to return.

Not great. The service was fine, incongruous Spanish music, the food was okay, the house white was insipid, and all ludicrously overpriced. The cheapest bottle of wine on the carte will set you back almost seventeen quid. There wouldn't be much to complain about if this place was cheap and cheerful, but actually... it's a con.
