The dim sum is fine (as its out sourced like many chinese restaurants). The in house cooking is well below standard. (The review that said the food is any good comes from non-Chinese customers.) As for service, don't go there when its busy, its always friends and family first, even if you have got a waiting token.

If you are looking for excellence don't go! however, if you are looking for all round pretty good everything you cannot fault it. As for the chap complaining about staff shouting at his child! I pay to eat at a restaurant and not a child's playground, hooray for the staff. Parent's these days firmly believe there children should be allowed anything and at the same time wonder why society is now the way it is! Well done the wing tai carry on the good work.

I have been to Wing Tai on many occassions - the food is wonderful , The Staff very attentive.
On several occasions there was a group of appx 16 and more and none of us could fault it. The food is really 1st class.
Also what is really nice - there is a lot of Chinese people who eat there - as they say if people from their country visit it speaks for itself - the food is excellent - really Superb 5 star *****
Many of the people I work with hold this restaurant in very high esteem and I will be very happy to spend my 60th birthday there on Monday 26th November.with some members of my family.... I could not ask for better.- I have been to many restaurants in town but this is really 1st class.

I can give the food rating of average because they didn't make the dim sum themself, in fact most Chinese restaurants use external source for their dim sum. As for the service, its from very average to a total joke. They will give available sits to their friends first., the same applies to the food ordered No one have a smile on their faces. Try to complain are anything and watch their faces change. Atmosphere is good, nothing much I can say in here. As for value for money, the price is average for a Chinese restaurant on the edge of London (e.g. higher than in China Town in London). People should consider Dragon City in Alperton or Imperial China in Watford.

I have been a frequent customer of Wing Tai since it opened and up to now it was fine. Probably because for convenience if you drive and also the Wing Yip supermarket next door where you can stock up on Chinese groceries afterwards.
Prices are generally more expensive compared with Chinatown but then you are in North London. Food is acceptable but I have had better at Imperial China in Watford + atmosphere and service is much better.
Until recently I didn't care too much about service. As long as it was acceptable I really didn't care. After all it is a dim sum restaurant and I don't expect great service like a Michelin star restaurant. However, I was very angry with what happened during my last visit so Wing Tai will never have my custom again!!!
Let me explain: This place gets very busy at lunchtime so when you arrive you collect a raffle ticket from the woman at front of the restaurant. She walks around the restaurant checking the tables and when one is free she calls out your number and then you are lead to it.
I was with my wife and 3 year old daughter and my daughter had finished eating. As it was busy, I told her not to run around but just play/push her toy pushchair around the table. Then suddenly I heard the same middle aged woman that had given me a raffle ticket earlier shout, 'Oi, you sit down!' to my daughter and walked off. This scared her and no doubt made her cry. Shouting at a 3 year old is totally disgusting behaviour, low and definitely not acceptable!!! My wife complained to a manager but I doubt he will talk to her.
I asked for the bill instantly and paid EXACTLY the amount on the bill. I was even tempted to ask for the 10% service charge to be removed. Paying the bill was also very annoying. As I was taking my money out a waitress in charge of the bill came coming over to the table twice in 2 mins, lift up the bill to check if I paid yet. FFS!!!!
SO PARENTS, IF YOU HAVE YOUNG CHILDREN MAKE SURE THEY DON'T LEAVE THEIR SEATS!!!! I WON'T BE GOING BACK!!!!

This is a vast Chinese restaurant near the junction of the A5 and North Circular road in Cricklewood – It’s not the easiest place to get to. It’s attached to the Wing Yip supermarket which is a treat in itself. To fulfil the cliché, invariably the majority of the clientele are Chinese.
I usually go for Dim Sum, occasionally with a plate of the roast duck or barbeque pork. It’s absolutely delicious. Going at lunchtime on a Saturday or a Sunday can lead to a long wait for a table. I’ve seen more than fifty people waiting to be seated – don’t forget to get a number from the front of house staff when you arrive. You can watch the chef chop and slice these in his glass booth while you’re waiting to be seated.
Value for money is very good – dim sum dishes go from just under £3 to a little over £4. Tea costs £1 per person with unlimited refills. The Char Sui buns are great as is the Cheung Fung XO and I really would recommend the barbeque meats. I’ve had dumplings that have been a little over-cooked but nothing to complain about.
Service is as good as it can be given the scale – your table won’t get their dishes at the same time. Dim sum ordering is done via a numbered form that you’re given by the waitress. Food comes surprisingly quickly. It's not a romantic venue but it's a great place to people watch.
After eating it’s well worth a walk around the supermarket – it sells a multitude of oriental canned, fresh and frozen goods. If you’re looking for frozen tilapia, fresh peppercorns or a wok then you can’t go wrong. Saying that I have bought stuff which hangs around the back of the kitchen cupboards for longer that I’d have hoped.
