Mehfil

On entrance to the restaurant we were told that we had booked our reservation for 6:30 although we actually had said 7:30. They had given our table away without notifying us even though they had a contact number. We were then seated to a small room at the side of the restaurant. The service was satisfactory, although the waiter was a little clumsy, dropping cutlery on my coat as well as on the ground. The food was good.

As we paid the bill, we received a call from the car park attendant who called to request that we move our car and was persistent that the vehicle should be moved 'now'. As we began to prepare to leave the restaurant the car park attendant approached our table and repeated the same thing again. Hearing this we became infuriated with their impatience and received glances from the staff which made us feel uncomfortable. As any other paying customer no one should have to experience this. I will not be returning to this restaurant any time in the near future.

I've been twice and had a similar (and positive) experience both times, though they were both very quiet nights which can't have put the wait-staff or the kitchen under pressure. The food here is very good- and I should make special mention of the Amritsar fish starter. Everyone on both occasions enjoyed their food.

The ambiance is neutral and if I hadn't enjoyed the food so much I might even say absent. It looks Holiday-Inn sterile, and the service was nothing special. But have I mentioned that the food's pretty good? And good value? And they have a car park at the rear.

We hosted a birthday party at Mehfil and the food was ok but the service needed some improvement. Firstly, there was no bar open in the hall like we requested. Secondly, one of the starters finished even before all the guests had turned up and thirdly, the dessert wasn't served to everyone and the birthday cake was given instead when this was supposed to be an extra dessert. The waiters didnt understand English very well which didn't help either.

I am a regular customer at Mehfil, eating there roughly once a month. The menu my seem to have less on it than other Indian restaurants but the quality of the food is fantastic. I have never tried anything there that I didn't like. Personal favourites are Paneer Pakora and Reshmi Kebab (starters), Butter Chicken, Kashmiri Rogan Josh and Paneer Jaipuri for mains. Their nans/ parathas/ roti etc are also delish. Everyone I have introduced to Mehfil loves it. Two bonus points:

1- Car park

2- The restaurant is completely non-smoking

food was outstanding, i was guest in a birthday party. restaurant jam packed, but still every thing was smooth. fish amritsari was amazing.

I've been to this place a few times now.. and I love it.. its light modern and airy.. the foods always great and the portions are generous, the service polite and efficient. Prices are very reasonable for tasty food.

Would recommend it for a great meal out.

Mehfil was recommended by my sis in law so I decided to go there for breakfast on sunday. Arrived 10:50 was told that breakfast is only served till 11:00 and im too late !!! Argued with the waitor but he said that they cant make this in time & I have to order from the menu !! Angry I was but we were here so i stayed. We ordered the butter chicked with nan. It was okay but a bit glow in the dark. Very flouresent yellow. Too artificial for me !!! We had the rasmali for dessert which was frankly, purchased from the supermarket and served to us. Dissapointing. I will go back and try and get there early to try the breakfast though!

OK to just below average. Service was a bit slow, and the food was overcooked. Lager was a bit warm and desserts were out of a packet.

Excellent cuisine and very friendly service. I recommend to all. The food selection is unique and is very tasty. My colleagues enjoy it so much this is where we are holding my work leaving do this week. Can't recommend no other place except here.

Went to Mehfil for my b'day as live nearby but never really go to eat around there as everything is the more or less the same - this was a lovely, refreshing change. Food was good - the fish was just so different from what i've tasted - delicious - even my husband who is really fussy over fish found this scrumptious! Nice to see that they offered a variety of drinks too. Atmosphere was good, great for veggie food, bonus that they've got a car park! Plus nice to see that they had 'proper' baby high chairs for the kids - and they didn't mind the mess our kids made!
