The food is good but this restaurant really has to decide its priorities. The service is dreadful and it is all the more frustrating as dish after dish comes out of the kitchen only to be promptly claimed as a take-way order. We have tried this place twice but will not be giving the benefit of third time lucky

Visited Charuwan on a quiet Sunday night and was really unimpressed.

Despite there being six people in the restaurant when we arrived (all of whom had been seated and had their orders taken before we got there) it took over 2 hours to have 1 shared starter and two main meals.

The prawn crackers were greasy, the mixed starter was truly average (although the dim sum was fantastic) and although the main meals were thoroughly delicious and quite authentic Thai dishes, the hour and a half wait to get it left a rather bitter taste in the mouth.

The waitress seemed very nice and keen to please but thoroughly odd. We had to ask, after twenty minutes to see a menu... we had to ask twice after ordering water and I nearly had to get up and go to the counter to pay the bill because it took so long.

Disappointing as we are big Thai fans but it was a really substandard first visit. Maybe we'll stick to Churchills in Kensington!

We're regulars at this fantastic, family-run spot in Tufnell Park. The food is really fresh and always fantastic, plus really well priced. The service is always friendly and attentive, plus the entire restaurant is so kitschy and interesting to look at. The Pad Thai and Green Curry are fantastic - and the vegetarian selection is to die for.

Nice food and prettily decorated restaurant, but not worth trekking to the other side of town for. It's handy place to know, if you live in the neighbourhood. They seem to do take-away too.

I had green curry, but it was a bit watery and not too flavoursome. The rice seemed a little of poor quality. The restaurant itself was nice and the waitress was very friendly too.
