I have had TWO meals at Mumbai Square in the past few months, and on both occasions the food AND service were both excellent.
I just cannot believe all these negative reviews on here, and suspect they might have been submitted by a rival Indian restaurant who just want to defame them. If you check out Mumbai Square on OTHER website reviews, they ALL give high recommendations.
Something's wrong here. By the way, I'm NOT a member of staff, I'm a Caucasian English businessman who has had the pleasure of dining there twice, and about to again today.
I am convinced there's dirty work here from rivals.
MY ADVICE TO ANYONE READING THOSE BAD REVIEWS IS "IGNORE THEM"!!!

Dreadful service. Food was incredibly overpriced - you get very little for your money, and it's not as if this is a top end restaurant!! Staff stared at us almost constantly until we left so they could clear the table. I really would avoid this place at all costs. Certainly not value for money.

I didn't have the same issues as others here. The wait was short and the staff were friendly enough. The food. The sauce was not particularly tasty and the chicken seemed cheap. Flat thin pieces that had a watery taste to it. Very poor will not be going back. Even for 50% off deal.
They add 12.5% service charge to meal as well. Prob won't go out of business as they have been around for a long time.

What an awful experience! My friend's samosa was frozen when the starters finally arrived (not cold, literally frozen). Whilst the staff attempted to quell our dissatisfaction with the lure of free alcohol, this was sadly not enough to rectify the issue. Unfortunately, the table nearby must have willingly accepted free alcohol for whatever inadequacies may have befallen their party, but such that the rest of the restaurant was treated to a repertoire of their best karaoke songs at full pelt. Not that the staff saw fit to advise them that such may be considered 'inappropriate' by other diners. Unfortunately (or fortunately, as the case may be) I had to leave given that the 1 hour wait for a main meal meant that I would miss last carriages otherwise. Who would've thought it took so long to heat up a frozen ready meal!? I cannot comment upon the quality of the food. The awful experiences prior to the long awaited arrival of food meant I didn't get to sample the possible culinary delights this establishment had to offer. Needless to say, the lack of clientele makes me wonder that I may not have been the first 'casualty' of the evening. I can only hope that I might be the last.

The worst restaurant ever! Went to an engagement here an it was a disaster. The restaurant and the staff completely ruined the whole occasion. Everyone's food was delayed and arrived ludicrously late and hardly anyone had food or drinks. The bride and her family was one of the last people to get fed and half the people that attended got bored of waiting and asking several times for things which was never seen to. There were only 2 waitor a because we got told 4 staff members didnt arrive. Sooo not worth the money. Wouldn't even give then a penny or eat there for free. We were so disappointed and furious. Brought shame upon the people that arranged it.

My colleagues and I booked in for lunch at the Mumbai Square.
We work in the financial industry and we are always eating out. I can confidently say that I nor any of my colleagues will be visiting this restaurant again.
The decor was fine and we were seated near the windows, so good marks there.
Now the bad bit, the service. Wow, the attitude of some of the staff members was bad. Our waiter was curt and rude. They made a mistake but no apologies, just silently went off and changed the dish.
The food is just above average but the portion sizes were very small compared to other finer dining eateries.
So if you like ok-ish food and bad service then eat here. Otherwise, there are many places that are much better.

Worst restaurant ever visted. Worst ambiance, Food was awfull and worst of all service. Waiters were rude and did not serve properly.
We arrived at the restaurant and there was no one to attend us and all was chaotic. We took dishes ourselves for Buffet and took whatever available (there was very little choice in startes). When we started eating waiter brought fork and knife (we had to eat with spoons kept near dessert). We order coke for drink which was not fizzy at all.
We requested for Naan bread repeatedly which we received after one round of rice and curry (which wasnt that good in taste BTW).
In short was very chaotic, neglected and most of rude experience.
I will suggest everyone to avoid restaurant at any cost.

Quiet isn't the word - Saturday lunchtime and the only customers.
Which is a pity because overall the food was pretty good (certainly preferable to anything I've eaten in Brick Lane or the vastly over-hyped New Tayyabs). Largish portions, reasonable-enough prices. I'd guess that quality would be higher with a bit more busy-ness - there was a little perceived sense of "what do we do now, some customers just came in".
At a guess, much busier weekdays (when their lunchtime offering is a buffet - which is something I'm always a little wary of).
It's a pity to think of a good-quality space like this being so underused, and the food really is quite tasty. Only marked low on atmosphere because I've been in livelier morgues (but some people prefer quiet to rowdiness).
