Cafe On The Hill

On Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Michael, the unfailingly genial Thai co-owner of the Cafe, serves his incredible Beef Noodle Soup. Beef brisket is simmered for hours in a spicy, herby, meaty broth until so tender you can slice it with a chopstick. Ask for it as hot as you like and transport yourself back to Thailand with one mouthful. I know someone who travels from Wales especially for this speciality and my mouth is watering just writing this!

I love cafe on the hill! A welcoming greasy spoon type cafe, with at least three Thai dishes on the menu, varying every day. Recommended are the Thai green curry and king prawn dishes. Great for lunch if you're in the area. And easy on the wallet too - usually less than £4 for a big plate of food and a drink!
