my cousin treated me because she was tellin me about their tasty milkshakes oreo, maltesers, snickers, i could go on !!, As a starter we had Calamari, i had never tried squid before and it was impressive. If you're going for the first time having a milkshake during the main course wouldnt be a good idea because it fills you up and u'll have no space for dessert which i unfortunatly didnt get to try out. Upstairs is also very cosy because there are sofa seats and a warm looking atmosphere, a big screen projector beside me playing Iron Man. This is a very good restaurant because its halal so more customers of the islamic faith can come and enjoy the food. Although waiting for a glass of water and getting a 'doggy bag' took a little long. A little pricey a meal for two could approximately cost £30-£40

Ankaboot has been renamed Halaliano.

I went as part of a party. I have to say this restaurant sucked big time. Apparently they were short staffed. They kept accepting more orders, despite the waiting time for drinks rising to between one and a half and two hours.

I wouldn't recommend this place. The food and drink are to a reasonable standard and well presented but overpriced. The level of service is absolutely appalling.

You'd be much better off going next door to Matsu. Some of our party got so fed up of waiting that they did just that.

We went to this resturaunt by chance, and are really glad we found it. Situated underneath the mile end bridge this is a little gem. The food was fresh and really tasty. for starter we had the bruschetta, which came as a 12 inch pizza with fresh tomatoes and cucumber and was loaded to the hilt, a middle eastern take on the dish, but a very pleasurable one. I then followed with cod with cous cous and a sweet chilli sauce (so much better than it sounds) and my freind had the steak, both portions were massive and the presentation was excellent, not at all what i would expect to find locally. We will definetly be returning. The onyl thing that may bother some people is the people smoking hookah, and if this does bother you (which it bothers me) there is an upstairs area where you can escape it.
