When they opened this place in Muswell Hill we went there a couple of times in quick succession and loved it and so did our kids

We have been back recently and have the distinct impression that these guys need to up the ante as both FBC's food and service have become somewhat tired. The place DOES have potential, though, and now that they have seen off the Ultimate Burger place nearby, I hope they make a real effort to become a worthy competitor to Gourmet Burger Kitchen which for our money still takes the biscuit in North London.

I get a little tired, too, about them slapping a hefty service charge onto the bill but notice this is becoming increasingly common..

Have just had a distinctly average meal at the "Fine" Burger Company in Muswell Hill. Problems started when ordering. Having requested a Satay burger, rare, was surprised to be asked "chicken or beef". It might be useful to employ staff that know that you don't serve chicken rare. Distinctly nonplussed when burger arrived cooked medium. Menu does not state that vegetarian burger comes with mayonnaise (this is stated explicitly on some other burgers) - not good when you are ordering it for a pregnant woman (raw egg not recommended for pregnant women). Asked for a chopped salad with Balsamic dressing rather than the standard ranch dressing. Had to ask for the salad becuase it wasn't brought out with the rest of the food and when it was put down on the table it had no dressing at all. The dressings were unceremoniously plonked on to the table 10 minutes later without a word of apology. Onion rings arrived with a puddle of oil in the bottom of the bowl - would prefer that they had been properly drained of the excess oil.

Spent half the meal without a drink as staff not interested to notice that glass was empty (was not going to ask for one as by this point didn't really want to give them any more money) and at no point did any member of staff ask if everything was ok, not even when we asked for the bill.

To top all of this off, service is added on to the already expensive bill automatically. Needless to say, I didn't pay for service as none was provided. You might as well go to any cheap high street burger chain - I've had better service in one at 11pm at Paddington station.

Thoroughly disappointed.

While I can’t complain about the service, the food just wasn’t special. I asked for the burger ‘well done’ and upon its arrival it was pink through out – it got sent back. Another arrived and it was the same. This also occurred to the table sitting behind me.

The onion rings were very oily and the chips were limp and over salty. My partner had the vegi burger and she thought it tasted like a defrosted Tesco value vegi burger.

Another gripe is adding service charge onto the bill. If I want to leave a tip I will do. No restaurant should expect a tip.

I went to the fbc for the first time today and found the burgers to be really juicy and tasty, the onion rings were the best ive ever tasted.i didnt think much of their milkshakes tough.

I dont mind paying for quality and the burger was 100% top quality.

I will be going back again.

I dined at the FBC last Friday evening for the first time with my sister after just recently moving to Muswell Hill. We are both seasoned foodies and were looking forward to out meal after the rave reviews. However, we were both appauled by the poor service and genuine lackluster way that the restaurant was run, not to mention being truly disappointed in the only slight improvement on Burger King with regards to the food itself. The 'head waiter' was rude and disinterested in us, the 'hand cut fries' were few in number and hard in the middle, the burgers arrived at different times and after ovehearing the manager swear at his kitchen staff, my sister's veggie burger arrived 10 minutes after mine. We were left with our plates in front of us for 15 minutes after finishing whilst several members of the waiting ataff walked past us. Needless to say, we will never, ever be returning! I will also be submitting my complaint to Time Out so that they can re-look at their, in my opinion, inaccurate reviews!

I have eaten on several occasions at FBC

usually before 6.00 when you get the burger drink deal. I have always found it to be excellent and the burgers very very good. I read one earlier review where they compare it to the Ultimate burger which is also located in Muswell Hill and is a late comer. No comparison. Not comfortable and the burgers are not consistent.

I just hope that the burgers stay good

My wife and I frequent this joint often, especially with their excellent early burger and drink deal. I've found the service to be very good and when something hasn't been right it's been dealt with promptly. The layout is nice and open, good choice of burgers and a tempting specials menu. Would recommend to conoisseurs of fast food, taste what a real burger should taste like.

1st visit today - DISAPPOINTING!!!

Wasn't crowded at all- except us, one simple order with an add on...wasn't delivered!! chips- overcooked ( u can tell by looking at it...)

waitress claimed is the potatoes of theirs...nothing wrong, not overcooked to her!!

DEFINITELY WON'T VISIT AGAIN ,besides....burger is not too brilliant- Mcdonald's is even better, esp the BIG TASTY!!

also...pricing of FBC are bit steep, basing on what they deliver!!!

Disappointing!!!
