Le Cercle

We decided to try Le Cercle after all the rave reviews. The restaurant is very stylish with a lovely warm atmosphere and very attentive staff. The food was delicious and presented in small portions with plenty of bread to add bulk. The crab veloute was very flavoursome but the large spoon supplied could hardly fit into the tiny soup dish and I think a teaspoon would have been more practical.The scallop main dish was beautifully cooked but a little disappointing with only 3 queen scallops for £15. The venison was also wonderful despite it being presented in 3 small pieces for £17.50. The piece of cheese offered after the mains wasn't much larger than a triangle of a famous cheese slice (foil wrapped). In conclusion, I think the management of Le Cercle provide a great atmosphere and wonderful cuisine. Unfortunately, I think they are mean with the portions and should behave more generously towards their clientele.

4 of us went to Le Cercle on Saturday 3 October for the first time. The food was great but the service was OTT - the waiters wanted to fill up up our glasses before we had had time to drink a sip! We had to stop them doing this, and then when we wanted another bottle of wine they were a bit huffy. We felt we were there for them not the other way around.

One of us was a vegetarian. The waitress only told us the portions were small and recomend we order 3 or so each after we had placed our oder, so we had to start again. Then they came in three waves, but all of the veggie ones in wave one, so we were a bit stuck when we got to wave 3.

Food was great, but they need to sort out the communications with the guests.

And why music - we struggled to hear ourselves.

Returned to Le Cercle and once again got amazed by their quality of food, service and ambiance.

Only disapointment would possibly be at dessert-time when my girlfriend didn't really enjoy her Peach dessert.

Still very good though...

I was at Le Cercle a week ago and the dinner I had was truly delicious.

Delicious food, well executed and presented in a pretty way with a very good and friendly service.

The wine suggested by the wine waitress was also delicious and a good choice.

Certainly a place I'll come back to...

Went there on saturday the 4th of april for my birthday. Since there were 6 of us we each ordered 3 to 4 dishes each. They were simply amazing, the cured tuna with the tempura pork was melt in the mouth tender, as was the beef cheek.

the atmosphere was lively and chatty and the staff were attentive but not obtrusive.

I went to the Le Cercle last Thursday for the first time and wanted to write a review (my first) to let everyone know about the great experience I had.

The place is lovely, with a very elegant decor and we were given a very cosy little booth for the 2 of us.

It is a little unusual but the dishes were presented in smaller portions which gave us more choice and we could try and share more dishes my girlfriend and me.

Overall we had a good night, enjoyed the food but what really made our evening was the waitress who was able to recomend the best dishes for us, very caring and always attentive.

The sommelier recomended also the perfect bottle for the 2 of us, the perfect choice to match our dishes and it was also a delicious wine.

I would strongly advise anyone to drop by for a dinner... definitely a place worth a visit.
