Le Cercle

I went there with my girlfriend last night for the first time and it was a complete success. The room is beautiful and we sat by a big fireplace for a cocktail before they took us to our table.

there is a lovely buzz about the place and you feel the staff want to be there.

the food is amazing, straying far from the usual French fare. Small tasting portions are chosen and brought to the table in the order you chose them. We shared starters and enjoyed them all, the highlight being dish of French Ravioles filled with cheese and served with truffle. We then had delicious seabass and haddock, followed by beef onglet and veal shank. we then shared Venison and John Dory, a cheese slate and a lovely rhubarb crumble. We had a lovely bottle of red wine from the languedoc region and went home feeling thoroughly satisfied. Can't wait to go back!

Overrated. The food was only ok, the portions extremely small and often expensive. However, the wine list was good and the setting is lovely. There are much better French restaurants in London.

our delightful saturday evening started with the full attention of our waitress, followed by several little dishes, each a masterpiece of flavours. the wine and champagne had the right temperature (which doesnt happen everywhere), and also the cheese met our expectations to the highest extent. overall very good, creative cuisine, attentive, friendly and competent service. we shall definitely go back.

I took my sister to Le Cercle for a special birthday lunch and we were both so impressed that we are taking her husband back there in a couple of weeks' time. I love the idea of tapas and to get such exquisite food in that format was great for someone with a fairly small appetite. Not for the hungry (unless you have lots of courses). The ambience was nice and peaceful but it was lunchtime and not very busy. Our waiter could not have been more helpful and attentive.

I had dinner there last night with a friend and I will have to agree with some of the other reviews: great food, average service with a few major mistakes. However I had an extremely pleasant evening and enjoyed all the French "tapas" very much. I would definetly go back.

The whole point about Le Cercle is that the portions are small, essentially it’s French tapas which allows you to try a number of dishes of different types, rather than have a conventional starter/main/dessert type meal. I can’t help but think this place is very special indeed. The room itself is beautiful, stylishly understated creating an atmosphere of relaxed elegance. The service is great, very professional and assured. We started with an aperitif in the bar area before being shown to our table. The menu is divided into vegetable, seafood and meat sections, four or five small dishes per person seems about right depending on your appetite. The prices are actually very reasonable with some dishes as cheap as £3 so even if you order five plates it needn’t cost more than a conventional meal. We were stunned by the quality of what was on offer, the menu is seasonal and drawn from all over France but given a contemporary twist. Everything we tried was a superb, small the dishes may be but the flavours are concentrated and panoramic, there’s nothing small about how things taste! The wine list is interesting and extensive, the Russian sommelier charming and helpful. We finished off with some desserts which were almost to beautiful to eat. Given the quality of what is on offer here the bill of £130 for three of us seemed very reasonable. I can’t wait to go back

I ate here last nigth and was very impress. I thougt the food fantastic and depassed any michelin stared i eaten.

Some of combinations are interesting.

I really liked the mushrooms and the porc with the carotte and the coffee sauce!

we both agreed that this is place not to be missed ...

I went to Le Cercle for a friend's birthday, and although she told me it was tapas style, I didn't realize that it would be such small portions. For three people, we had 7 dishes, 3 desserts, and a glass of champagne each. The meat dishes were the best (the veggie options weren't made for a hungry person) and the service seemed very impatient. I would only recommend going there to see the space (very interesting decoration) and if you aren't very hungry.
