Returned to Le Cercle and once again got amazed by their quality of food, service and ambiance.

Only disapointment would possibly be at dessert-time when my girlfriend didn't really enjoy her Peach dessert.

Still very good though...

I was at Le Cercle a week ago and the dinner I had was truly delicious.

Delicious food, well executed and presented in a pretty way with a very good and friendly service.

The wine suggested by the wine waitress was also delicious and a good choice.

Certainly a place I'll come back to...

Went there on saturday the 4th of april for my birthday. Since there were 6 of us we each ordered 3 to 4 dishes each. They were simply amazing, the cured tuna with the tempura pork was melt in the mouth tender, as was the beef cheek.

the atmosphere was lively and chatty and the staff were attentive but not obtrusive.

I went to the Le Cercle last Thursday for the first time and wanted to write a review (my first) to let everyone know about the great experience I had.

The place is lovely, with a very elegant decor and we were given a very cosy little booth for the 2 of us.

It is a little unusual but the dishes were presented in smaller portions which gave us more choice and we could try and share more dishes my girlfriend and me.

Overall we had a good night, enjoyed the food but what really made our evening was the waitress who was able to recomend the best dishes for us, very caring and always attentive.

The sommelier recomended also the perfect bottle for the 2 of us, the perfect choice to match our dishes and it was also a delicious wine.

I would strongly advise anyone to drop by for a dinner... definitely a place worth a visit.

I was under pressure to choose a nice place for lunch to double up as a Christmas treat/my leaving lunch and plumped for Le Cercle. Press reviews focussed on how "glamorous" this place is, but the reality is that the atmosphere is pretty relaxed and the setting is bright, simple and airy.

Service was fairly slow and nothing to write home about, but the food was absolutely spectacular: possibly the best I've had in London.

Although a £20-for-four-courses lunch deal is advertised, they only had a Christmas £35 menu on, so we went a la carte. The menu is extensive and ambitious - game and offal feature prominently. New combinations of flavours is clearly the name of the game.

As mentioned elsewhere, portions are small, tapas-style is definitely the best way to imagine it. I started with a shellfish soup (based on a VERY rich stock) with a blob of avocado cream dumped in it, which was fantastic. After that came sturgeon (it tastes quite like trout, if you're wondering) and then hare. Both were delicious. I finished with a spectacularly good tarte tatin with caramel-and-calvados-ice-cream. In my experiece it's rare to go to a restaurant where all the courses are equally good but this was the case here.

The a la carte is not cheap if you're expecting the lunch deal, but for a moderately upmarket evening meal it couldn't be thought of as exorbitant either. Wine is served by the glass - mine was excellent. It's not the most economical way to drink though!

The bill came in at £240 for four of us; we all had a glass lf champagne and one glas of wine each. Four courses won't make you feel stuffed, but that isn't the point of a place like this. It's creative cooking at its best.

I went to Le Cercle for the first time and even though finding it hard to find at first I was led into the restaurant which was very tastfully decorated with long drapes hanging from the ceiling, dark wood tables and a cosy atmosphere.

The menu was very interesting with a big selection to choose from on the carte. I was told by our waiter who took us through the menu that they usually recomended to pick 3 to 4 courses as these were smaller "tasting" portions.

We were not disapointed by the food which was delicious and so well presented.

Service was very professional, courteous and done with style.

My girlfriend was very impressed too and I will no doubt be returning to Le Cercle.

To be strongly recomended!

Exceptional food, made to perfection, good wine and pleasant atmosphere.

Service was good apart from one member of the staff that kept saying that what we ordered was not enough and when we said that we would order more after the first round she seemed annoyed with our decision. Very rude, but that was only one of them and we did not let this spoil our delicious experience.

Highly recommended but bear in mind that the dishes are very small, so you just have to order a few of them and get different tastes of heaven.

Fantastic underground James Bond-like layer...this is truly fantastic fine french cuisine served as tapas dishes! There is nothing like this place, as you walk down a small side street just off Sloane Street with nothing but a row of houses, suddenly as you enter the almost hidden door you are taken to an underground layer which is set over two floors. The first floor a casually small space for cocktails and snacks and a balcony to overllok the room. As you walk further down the stairs to the bottom floor a room filled with tables and beyond that, at the end of ther room there are booths with a glass wall housing a slightly raised wine cellar, impressive! Then comes the food, an absolute pleasure! Because everything is served in a tapas style the dishes are quite small (which some may view as a negative) but allows you to try many different dishes, however you are wanred the prices are not cheap and as you seek to fill yourself up the bill could be lethal.

A valentines dinner, 7.30pm sitting.

The restaurant looked beautiful and the staff were all extremely friendly. Service was slower than i would have liked, however, the manager did explain that they were trying a new valentine menu which they hadn't done before and therfore took off the service charge from the bill (only after i asked mind you!).

Some neighbouring tables had an absolute nightmare. Meat being served to Vegitarians, wrong wines, waiting 20 minutes before deserts and worst of all, the cheese course being served instead of the main course!

The food was exceptional, although a little overpriced at just under £10 per course for the 5 course set menu.

I would go back again, but i wouldn't go out of my way to make the trip across London again.

A wonderful restaurant: the dining room is a gorgeous and good-looking space. Service is prompt, informal and pleasant, and the wine list is extensive. However, it’s the excellent food that sets Le Cercle apart.

Like its sister restaurants Club Gascon and Comptoir Gascon, this is not a “French restaurant” in the traditional sense (and those below criticising the sizes of the portions are really missing the point).

Dishes are small but the idea is that you order three or four of them, and then a dessert or cheeses if required. That said, we’re not talking nouvelle cuisine here; but instead well-sourced and beautifully prepared tapas-sized delicacies. It’s a tasting menu and one that – for the quality of the food – is very good value.

A really superb dining experience. I can’t wait to go back.
