My wife invited me to our excellent local restuarant Whits today for Sunday lunch. This is the best restuarant in Kensington! Coq au vin was on the menu - The last time I had a good one was in France. Today was super - it was one of the best coq au vin I have tasted. Steve (the boss) told me he marinaded it for 72 hours. It was really good. Eva (Mrs Boss) was as attentive as ever and the lovely waitress could not do enough for us. Five star lunch!!

Whits is our favourite restuarant - we went there for a quick dinner last week.we had steak and chips which was fantastic!! The chips was plump, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside absolutely scrumpshous !! The steak was cooked to perfection - only Steve can produce such perfection!! Big thank you Eva and Steve for such a great evening.

We've been going to Whits for years - I call it the best restaurant in London because the food always exceeds expectations and surpasses the simple description on the menu. Just adventurous enough and also seasonal. Starts with delicious warm bread rolls. My favourite at the moment is the scallop risotto - a generous number of succulent scallops on perfect risotto. Even a green salad is a delicous and varied selection of leaves and herbs with a well balanced dressing. Eva is very welcoming as well as efficient and service always smooth. Couldn't recommend it more highly!

Whits is our favourite local restaurant - absolutely the best!!!. I have celebrated my birthday there in January which was a great evening.

Eva is a fantastic hostess - warm and bubbly even when the restaurant is busy. The service is very attentive but unobtrusive. Steve is such an amazing chef!! His food always blew us away....!! Highly recommended.

I read in the press last week that all the celeb chefs are now supporting tap water in restaurants - Eva has always offered tap water to their customers! Well done Eva!!

Thanks you for an excellent lunch on Sunday!! Margaret

Second visit here and again the food was as amazing as before although Sunday lunch menu and not the a la carte like last time. Eva is an excellent host, attentive but not in your face.

Party of 4 of us, I had the salmon terrine to start which was light and the salad dressing was zingy and fresh followed by the roast lamb which was perfectly cooked and the dauphinois potatoes properly crispy on top and soft underneath. Had to try my partner’s banana soufflé which was a real surprise and probably the best I have tasted.

The atmosphere is sophisticated but not stuffy and the service is great. Highly recommended

Went to Whits on Sunday 20th January for Sunday lunch. Having travelled down from Birmingham, our friends took us their for lunch. All I can say is WOW! what a lunch!

The atomosphere of the restaurant was, calm relaxing and very tasteful. Eva did a fantasic job looking after us. I was particularly impressed with the attention to detail.

The food was beautiful. Smoked salmon Terrine to begin with followed by Lamb. The pudding was perhaps one of the best I have ever had! Hot banana souffle....I would definately recommend you try it....its worth it!

Whits really is a find. We are moving to London shortly and hope to make it a regular eating place of ours. Thank you to Eva, Steve and their team.

Went to Whits on Saturday for a Birthday Celebration with a group of friends. I have been before, table for 2, and was very impressed both with the food and service. This time there were 11 of us and yet the standards were maintained. I loved the Scallop Ravioli starter and the main was delicious too.

Would definately recommend to anyone who appreciates good food and good service.

We are "foodies" - we live to eat vs eat to live! Whit's is a place we bring friends and business associates, eat alone or stop in for a dessert. It has a welcoming ambience thanks to Eva. The food is innovative, tasty and always an artful presentation. We eat at the restaurant multiple times a month and never tire of the menu as there is always new items.

We recently visited Whits on a Saturday evening (May 11th), 2nd visit for me but 1st for the rest of the party of 9!. The food was fantastic, ambience great and service as usual ...excellent. There were 9 ladies who were celebrating various milestone birthdays, we had a fabulous evening and were all pleasantly surpised by the bill, surpisingly modest for London. Wine at Whits is very well priced with a good choice. 2 of the group were from Canada and even they were impressed with the steaks, the lamb and fish were also cooked to perfection and we all thought the desserts were heavenly. The chef came out to apologise for the delay with the desserts...the 1st attempt at souffles were not perfect...we had not noticed the delay ..we were too busy drinking and enjoying ourselves but thought it was a nice touch. Eva topped the evening by presenting a lovely chocolate and raspberry bithday card, although we were all full to bursting, we managed to find room for a bit more! Well done to all the team at Whits, a true find in Kensington.

Having dined here approximately once a week for the last few months it doesn't really compare with many other eating establishments in Kensington.

The chef really is amazing. He uses fabulously fresh and imaginative ingredients and his jus and accompanying sauces to dishes are complex without ever being overpowering. He obviously really thinks about what he wants to create and is clearly a perfectionist.

Eva is a great front-of-house hostess; it is so refreshing to dine at a restaurant where someone understands English, understands the menu, the wine list and above all what the customer needs and wants.

Please eat here often. You will be doing yourself a disservice by not doing so.

The baked pear needs an award - it's devine!!
