I came here yesterday evening and had a wonderful meal. This really is a very different style of asian cuisine (Sinhalese) to the usual Punjabi/Bengali fayre.

We arrived on a night where they provided an extensive buffet £12.95 pp: fish, mutton, chicken and various vegetable curries - aubergine, okra, dhaal. Many different types of rice and string hoppers, accompaniments - coconut sambal and chutneys.

The pièce de resistance were the hoppers. Cooked to order: with milk, without milk or with an egg.

I was impressed with the good attention to hygiene, friendly, welcoming staff and delightful chef who explained the ingredients and curries well.

There was live music which was good but on the loud side and we wanted to take some of our leftovers home (so as not to waste the food) which was not possible. These however are small details which would not deter me from recommending or returning to this restaurant. Well worth a visit.

The best Sri Lankan restaurant in the city. I am of Sri Lankan origin and have had amazing times here. Service is swift and organised; the food is piping hot.

Friday night Hopper night is the best; set to the sounds of a Tamil Gaana/Baila band - for £10.95, you can have freshly made, as you wait, lots of bowl-shaped crispy Lankan pancakes with all the curry, noodle pancakes (string hoppers) and chicken biryani you could shake a stick at. Whilst the biriyani isn't top notch (a proper Lankan biriyani has tomato, fried onions, cashews and a deep fried boiled egg), it's competent - the rest of the food, the snacks, short eats and the pure Lankan stuff, such as red fish curry, dry lamb fry, potato stir-fry (ala thel) are outstanding.

Lion Lager, Stout and Arrack available; drink these and skip dessert. You'll have an evening to repeat and remember.
