Daruma-San

I have been there for several times, the sushi and sashimi quality is always amazing! The hot food are also quite nice. They are in small portion, but Japanese food are always in small portion. The service is also quite nice and the place is quite and good for friends getting together. It is an authorized traditional Japanese restaurant now. Congratulations to them! I think I'll keep on going there and enjoy good food.

Unfortunately the place is overrated about its food in the reviews here.

I too have been eating Japanese food both in London and in Japan for years. I have been to several low profile izakayas but they were cozy while this place comes across as shabby. The food is nothing special although I had no sushi, it's ok but nothing special and the portions are way small for the price.

I have never been to a restaurant or izakaya where I got charged for some mayonnaise. Ridiculous! It's not worth it...

A great local sushi place,,,, in fact worth travelling much further to enjoy their great quality sushi which is always well presented with great service, attention to detail in a very calm atmosphere.

Watch out for the low tables and enjoy a great meal. Averagely priced for sushi.

I have been frequenting this establishment for many years and have never been disappointed. Check it out.

another great lunch at daruma-san! the futomaki is great.

glad to see it had quite a few customers for a monday lunchtime, including quite a few japanese... i really like this restaurant and have never been disappointed by a meal here.

p.s. to the reviewer below - it seems that they've also started doing set meals in the evening. 2 options, one of which was about £20, if my memory serves me correctly

We have been visiting this restaurant for a while now, and we have never been disappointed. We always order sushi only, and it is always of amazing quality. Service is very nice. All in all, a top local eatery.

Daruma-San is a great little Japanese restaurant! I used to come here almost weekly as a small child and although my visits are less frequent these days, they are always enjoyable. The set lunches provide the best value (very good value, in fact) although dinners tend to be more expensive because (as with most Japanese restaurants) each component (rice, miso soup, fish, tofu etc.) must be ordered separately. The interior isn't as sleek as it once was, but I quite like it - it gives it the atmosphere of an authentic Japanese izakaya and in no way reflects the quality of the food.

My boyfriend, family and I all love this restaurant.
