just went there last night for the first time and i must say that the food is quite tasty - my boyfriend & i shared some tapas and had a pitcher of red sangria which the waiter/bartender made himself. if you like meatballs, try theirs and if you like spanish chorizo, try their empanadas - really good! this small, cozy restaurant is a hidden find!

I went here on Saturday night with 5 friends. The food was, on the whole, very good, the chorizo and calamari definitely better than average. The bread was a bit disappointing: basically a half cooked pre-frozen baguette sliced in a basket. The waiters were not particularly attentive and we had to keep getting their attention to then order something. Other than that, the atmosphere was good and I thought it was good value for money, especially the Rioja Tinto at £15 a bottle.

We rented the downstairs room for a party at Solea and I was very impressed indeed.

The staff were really flexible and friendly and bent over backwards to accomadate us. You can plug your ipod into the stero and play your own music, the atmosphere is superb and the bar is very attractive with low lighting and candles.

The food was great.

I would really reccommend this venue for a private party, drinks or for a meal.

I went there for the first time on a tuesday night with my girlfriend. I was really pleasently surprised. The staff are great, really relaxed atmosphere, nice people, great service and such value for money. The food was outstanding and I would highly reccomend it to annyone. Plus they have a little cute courtyard outback with a few tables for the smokers ;-)

Definitely going back there.

I don't know what "undiscovered gem" is in Spanish but the term neatly describes this place. The food is exquisite - not haute cuisine but home-cooked - the comforting stuff your mother would serve-up if she was from Valencia. One of the owners, who I think is from Cordoba, is the chef and the tapas we gulped down was superb. My partner still sings the praises of the paella we had to anyone who will listen. The other great thing about the place is the atmosphere, spit and sawdust rather than chic but unbelievably cosy. The restaurant is in the heart of Fulham but there wasn't a Sloane in sight, instead the clientele - mostly in their 20s and thirties - seemed unpretentious and cosmopolitan. We happened to eat there on "flamenco night" - an amazing experience. As a result we ate to a backdrop of soothing jazz, aggressive Spanish dancing and the hum of accents from all over the world. I suppose I might just, possibly understand why the appearance of this place would deter the feint-hearted (see below) but for anyone who loves great food, a good time and a lively atmosphere for under £25 a head (including wine) this is paradise.

I have had a very nice time the three times I have been to Solea. It is a welcoming cosy smallish tapas bar with modern decor and nice food serced by very friendly staff at reasonable prices (£20-25 a head max). It is worth popping in on Thursdays evenings to see the flamenco show (two guys playing the Spanish guitar and a girl that sings and dances heartfully) and have a glass of wine. Otherwise, a great place to spend the evening with friends chatting away and having tapas.

I used to go here all the time, but they took away happy hour (not good). My husband and I are locals, and have been very dissatisfied with the service and the food which has gone down hill. The owners are nice, but the younger guy working behind the bar has a horrible attitude. They have lost us as customers and my husband and I will not be going back there ever again.
