Cabana is a Brazilian barbecue restaurant now open in Central Saint Giles Piazza. The menu includes a huge range of grilled skewers like honey and date chicken and chilli and cumin lamb, alongside street food snacks, salads, sides and frozen yoghurt.

Monday, December 05, 2011 - The theory is that a constant stream of skewers of freshly cooked meats circulate the room, from which you take your pick. But on our visit it was a quiet night, so many of the advertised skewers failed to appear. Our chimichurri rump steak was a little dry and overcooked; in contrast, a rack of lamb was succulent and spicy. Pastels (pastries) are a deep-fried fast food served well-stuffed in Brazil, but the version here was a disappointingly near-hollow shell with hardly any cheese. Moist chicken croquettes and a hearty black bean soup were better...The staff were upbeat, the room good- looking, the music suitably up-tempo. But if you're after a more authentically Brazilian experience, look elsewhere.

Vibrant and interesting decor, relaxed atmosphere. Excellent well priced food mostly cooked on Barbeque at Bar in full view of customers, and theatrically served on large skewers at your table.

Staff very welcoming and smiling and very attentive, fully aware of the importance of Customer Service which is so often sadly lacking generally today.

Would recommend to everyone confident they will have a memorable time.

Try it, you will not be disappointed !

Fascinating decor and relaxed atmosphere, with staff very attentive, welcoming and smiling who fully understand the full value of Customer service.

Very good quality and value of food, much of which is cooked at a barbeque on the bar in full view of customers, and served theatrically off skewers at your table.

Very disappointed with my visit, reading reviews on here I was expecting the all you can eat Brazilian BBQ experience but it is not. The theory is you buy a skewer and if you want more they bring another and add it to your bill which could get very big very quickly (my 1 skewer costing £13). Food was ok at best, having ordered a half pork / half steak skewer I received a lump of cold pork on a plate and a steak on another plate not a skewer in sight. Also the manager was rude, we booked a table for 12 for 7:30 and on arrival were told they had 2 tables of 6 and that we were late, he said we had booked it for 6:30 then changed his mind to 5:30 then wandered off to find us a table. Waiting staff were lovely though. I get the impression this place is trying to be both a Brazilian BBQ and a Wahaca clone but it is failing to do either well, I won't be going back.

Very bad! food was cold, too spicy and tasteless! the manager who took the order knew we didn't like spicy food but she didn't tell us it would be. waiters were all very rude (including the manager) besides two nice waitresses. waited 25 minutes for our second round of beer, when they arrived we were already finished.

Bad experience in a overpriced restaurant. stay away from it.

I have to say that I am very disappointed with this restaurant.Managment wasn't aware of our complain. We were waiting to long for the food and for the waiter to take the order. On the end when we got the food after a while was cold and tasteless. No one didn't check back on us.Also we waited for the bil to long.U want to have a nice time in the Restaurant not to get upset. Unfortunately I can't recommend this Restaurant. Poor service and managment.

Went here last night. The concept is great focusing on nice marinaded meats as they do in Brazil, they also make nice cocktails.

However, a few problems were encountered. Waiters use iPhones to take your order, seems like a cool concept, however it seemed to take them ages to find each item on their iPhone, so they would be standing at your table for ages when they could have written on a pad and be gone in 30 seconds! Secondly, it takes them AGES to make the cocktails... like 15 minutes, so maybe order two at the same time if you're thirsty. Lastly the staff in general were very poor, we had three different waiting staff dealing with our table of only 5 and the communication between them was non existent which meant sides got forgotten and drinks were not delivered. However they still tried to charge us this on our bill.

Overall the food and drinks are excellent but the service is extremely poor. Will probably nor return in a hurry.

We, that is my wife and I, had an enjoyable evening at the new Cabana at the weekend. The Brazilian food, which was new to us, was very tasty and and we enjoyed the ambience of the restaurant. Music was appropriately audible, adding to the atmosphere, and not so loud as to spoil conversation. The staff were very cheerful and friendly which compensated for some minor language difficulties, but then we were in London which is very cosmopolitan nowadays. Our only criticism would be that it is difficult to understand exactly what your meal is going to cost as food arrives constantly, unless you flip over a coloured beer mat to stop proceedings, and flip it back to continue.

Choosing from the menu could be made a lot more clear and simple.

Overall, good quality food and a pleasant experience.
