Date 19th December 2007

Last evening I visited the Mangosteen restaurant with work colleagues - a total of 10 diners.

Service was quick and efficient - wine glasses were sparkling clean.

The downstairs restaurant was very busy and extremely noisy - the chances of having a quiet meal were nil.

The main complaints I have are regarding the food :-

1. All our meals were served on cold plates

2. The bowl of rice was stone cold on the top but after a quick stir - the warmer rice was revealed - it seemed the bowl had been heated in a micro wave

3. I chose the "spicy chicken soup" spicy is not really the correct word as it was so hot (tastewise) that I was seriously worried I had permanently damaged my tongue !!

I am pleased to report that I found f our small pieces of chicken in the bowl.

Eaten here a couple of times - usually just for lunch. Went with a group of 8 people this past Friday night. The restaurant was full, but service good, food was really great, and all in all a pleasant evening.

For the area, it's cheap as chips, but that doesn't mean second rate food in the slightest. One of my favorite restaurants in the area.

I've now been to this restaurant twice. On both occasions the food has been fantastic and excellent value for money. I am unfamiliar with Thai cuisine generally so cannot offer a comparison with other restaurants. I must write though that the food here tastes sublime surpassing all expectations. The service too is excellent being attentive without being overly so.

This is the greatest little Thai restaurant we have found in central london. The food is great. The service is attentive but not intrusive and the whole comings and goings of the Carnaby Street area make the experience really special. Please Please Please dont change into one of those chain restaurants with the horrible plastic food like so many interesting little Thai Bistros do. Stay yourself!

we visited on 29th july for my husbands birthday. The restaurants quite small inside and the tables are basic and wooden.we ordered chicken satay and tempura prawns for starters which we enjoyed. For the mains we had chicken red curry, and sweet and sour and peanutty noodles i thoroughly enjoyed all our dishes and the price of £37 with two drinks was really good value. The service was polite and not in your face but very helpful when needed. We will definatley be visiting again the next time we stay in london.many thanks.

Went on Saturday with 8 girlfriends for part of my hen weekend.

Fantastic food, lovely staff who dealt with all our demands. All 9 of us said it was brilliant and we will be returning.

What e delight! I love this restaurant, the polite and friendly staff, the warm and welcoming atmosphere, and the wonderful food. But the best thing about the whole package is that it comes at a very reasonable price. Being in Central London I expected the restaurant to be fairly expensive, but they were quite the opposite.

I had a lovely time here and it will definately becoming a regular dining experience for me!

I went there for dinner last night (Thursday 8 Feb 2007) and was seriously impressed with the food. Thai food has been my favourite food for many years, and I've eaten it all over the world (including Thailand), but it would not be an exaggeration to say that Mangosteen has the best chicken satay skewers that I've ever had. It was seriously delicious! And the green chicken curry was also fantastic. I love this place - and it's so reasonably priced! Will definitely be going back again.
