This is a jewel in the crown of SW12.
I eat here once every 6 weeks and you couldn't wish to find more attentive and friendly staff.
A varied and fairly-priced menu awaits and the surroundings and cleanliness of the restaurant are first class. So sure are they of their standards that as you walk to the toilets there is a huge glass panel showing off how SPOTLESS the whole kitchen is. This leaves you in no doubt about the cleanliness of it's staff and the high quality of the food that you're about to eat. (the kitchen staff even waved at me as I walked past too - the staff that work here really are super friendly)
I shall continue to return time and time again.

On a Business trip with work to South London as colleague and I visited The Gurkhas Restaurant on Tuesday 10th May.
Service was Very Good, food was excellent and reasonable , for two cost about £60 including drinks. The whole meal was very nice , well presented and tasted delicious.

A great restaurant. I went here with my boyfriend on a Tuesday night - and it was really busy! The food was gorgeous and the staff couldn't have been kinder. I couldn't stop thinking about how good the food was all the day after and I can't wait to go back and try lots of other dishes on the menu. I'm a veggie and there was so much to choose from. Definitely go there!

I struggle to think of a better example of food, service, surroundings and cleanliness at the modest prices they charge. A clear favourite of mine.

Went last Friday night. Was terrific. Staff very friendly, and helpful. Wasnt sure what to ge off the menu - dont know Nepalese food too well. But, the staff advised on the best options based on what type of Indian food I normally enjoy. Decent prices too.

My and my fiancé visited Gurkhas Diener on Easter Sunday (2010). We absolutely loved the ambience. The service was excellent too. The food we ordered was fresh and tasty, but it could have been more spicier. We will definitely come back!

A very good restaurant. Have been living in the area for many years, and decided it was time to give it a try. Went with my sister and another friend on a saturday evening. Did not make a booking in advance and to my surprise it was full. However, the waiter was very accommodating. The service was excellent and there was a wide choice of food to choose from. All in all it was a very pleasant experience , inexpensive and we'd certainly go back again.

We really love this nepalese restaurant and we are regular customer almost every week. The food is fresh and tasty and most of all healthy food. You can find so many healthy choice in the menu such as brown rice, steam dumpling, fresh spinach etc. People with special diet can also find healthy CHOICE.
Service is fantastic but need to improve the standard.
Overall this is a wonderful and lovely place to dine.

I'm a big fan of Gurkhas Diner. The food is always really fresh and it's great for vegetarians. It's quite different from Indian food - as you would expect from a Nepalese restaurant. Overall there's a lot less oil and spice involved and the fact they use fresh veg rather than frozen (like a lot of Indian restaurants) really makes a difference. I order delivery regularly and the food always arrives beautifully hot and fresh.
Veggies shouldn't miss the saffron chamri, daal, paulngo sag (fresh spinach sauteed with fenugreek seeds) and dhahi bhanta (aubergine marinated in yoghurt). I love the Neapali bread too - made from wholewheat flour.
This is a firm fave in the Tooting Bec-Balham area.
