We miss Canyon, great restaurant and superb food - don't waste your time and money at the new Gaucho-very poor quality, lots of glitz and you feel mugged when you get the bill.

This restaurant is now closed. The building is now occupied by a branch of the Gaucho chain.

I absolutely love the Canyon. My friend and I often went there at lunchtimes and we always had great service which was not at all intrusive. The waiting staff were always flexible. The food has been spectacular on occasions and for the price I think it is fantastic. The atmosphere and setting are perfect.

What a magical evening! Superb food-the best in London......fabulous service and wonderful setting. We went for a Christmas party, but can't wait to go again soon for dinner.

Have been there a couple of times, and while it is a great location, the service is very poor when its busy. Overpriced for what it is. Also note that there is a service charge already added to your bill, but they leave the service charge bit on your credit card slip, so you can double tip if you want. A particularly nice touch !!!

As I say nice location, mediocre food but highly overpriced

This must be the best restaurant in S W London- we had a superb dinner on Thursday. The menu was imaginative and the food presentation and quality was great. The duck dish was especially good and the creme brulee the best I have had anywhere. The service was friendly, but not intrusive and the atmosphere was buzzing on a very busy night. The wine list is probably a bit sparse but we had a good Australian Shiraz. Wonderful setting, which on a better night (it was raining) would have made it a perfect evening.

On Saturday 9th September 06 my friend Gordon and I were walking along the Thames Path at Richmond and we saw a notice outside The Canyon Restaurant situated behind a beautiful Plain Tree (Apparently the tallest in London!) We saw on the notice that Brunch was being served till 3 oclock and as it was only about two oclock we thought we would try it. We went inside and The Manageress found us a lovely table by the window overlooking the River across the outside Patio Eating Area and all the tables oiutside were full but we usually prefer to sit inside so we were very happy with our table. We were served very quickly with Drinks and we then ordered our brunch, I had Eggs Benedict and Gordon Eggs Royale and very soon we were served the delicious Egg Dishes. My Eggs Benedict was perfect and Gordons Eggs Royale with its tasty salmon went down a treat. we then had some Ice Cream and some Cuppochinos (wonderfull Frothy head with Chocolate sprinkled on top and it tasted excellant. All in all we enjoyed everything there! The Food and the service were exellent and the view of the river made you want to stay there for a long time. We will be going there again soon and will take our friends .

O.K if you cant stand kids or prams at a Sunday brunch... stay home because in Richmond they are everywhere including Canyon...I visit this restaurant regurlarly usually on weekdays or evenings(for obvious reasons) and must say the food is not very consistant...sometimes great sometimes very average and overpriced the service however is improving each time I visit.. I dont know why but lately they are getting it right. My dinner on friday was one of the best Ive had in London... We where well looked after by the charming young waiter and a very understanding young manageress who didnt mind at all that we where late and wanted a certain table...

Thats what I call service..

Ok restaurant at great location. Staff was ok. Food was ok. There was nothing outstanding but was pleasant enough Bistro type place. A little expensive for what one gets as the 2 courses for under £13 special was not on offer on weekends.
