This is a very sumptuous restaurant, elegant and polished. Right down to the quality of cups and teapots - Villeroy and Boch. This creates a unique experience.

The food was superb with service to match. Perhaps the indian dishes are left out - this is supposedly a French / European restaurant and these dishes are not in congurence with the general theme, environment and ambience.

This is the ultimate venue if you are dining for a special occasion. I thank the staff and management, and wish them great success!

Disappointing, no very disappointing is perhaps the kindest way to describe Bistro 51. There are several main criticisms I have of this restaurant:

1. It is not a French restaurant. The fact that one includes the word "Bistro" in the name of a restuarant does no more qualify it for French cuisine status than if one were to call a fast food chain "Bistro Wherever". Bistro 51's "French" menu was dominated by traditional French dishes such as satay sticks and curry(?). A side serve of gratin dauphinois was one of the few French flavours to be had. The menu is gastro pub (at best), not French.

2. The food was poor. Having realised this was not a French restaurant, because it isn't, I chose the satay for starters as it appeared the best pick: bad mistake. I suspect the satay sauce was from a supermarket basic range and the accompanying salad was made fresh, 2 days earlier! Mains were very average: my whole plaice was undercooked such that the fish was translucent in parts, many parts, and my wife's chicken was very tough. We didn't bother with dessert as the first two courses were appaling. Despite my complaints to our waiter and my invitation to discuss this with chef, no explanation nor apology was proffered.

3. Service was rubbish. Staff did not appear to follow up our complaints and they did not know how to process our payment: it took about 20 minutes!

I wasted my time and money on an evening meal at this restaurant, I don't propose to waste any more time on the subject.

Chose the 3 course menu at £18.00 disappointment that Vegetables didn't come with it, so lunch was a lot more expensive than expected. Other wise lovely restaurant, service and food.

A group of friends visited on Monday 18th of February, and we had a thoroughly enjoyable time. This is a superb, elegant and quality establishment. Highly attentive and personable service without being intrusive, and food was delicious and well presented, very creatively.

The staff provided us with free desserts because they were a little late in arriving, but really, they were not late at all. I've never encountered this level of service before, where an offering is made without the customer even complaining.

I will be back for sure, this establishment is a real delight!

Every course left a warm satisfied glow in my tummy and will linger in the memory long after. The waitress was cute. The wine was terrific. If only people took me out to dinner at places like this more often!

We had a lovely table by the window, the staff were very polite & friendly, they even sang happy birthday to my husband!

We found the food to be excellent, I had squid to start & fish stew for main both were cooked to perfection.

The peach bellinis are to die for!

All in all a great place to go for a romantic meal for two, would definately go back.

A comfortable, relaxing, clean restaurant with great food, wine and atmosphere. Great staff who are keen to help and offer guidance when picking from the menu!

Its not smokey or loud, tables are a nice distance apart so you can have a good conversation with your friends. Its also close to the tube station, but does have limited parking outside!

Can't wait to go back to try the rest of the menu! :o)
